err yeah this song was influenced by the movie trainspotting (that I watched for more or less the first time recently, I'd seen it before but didn't remember a thing of what happened in it). Awesome movie anyway. But yeah this is more to show off the Garageband App I got on my iPad, amazing that this thing has a better mic than my laptop. As per usual I write tragically depressing and morbid lyrics (I have also been listening to a lot of the smiths recently). For some reason I get a feeling I may have unintentionally ripped off some other song from somewhere but... eh fuck it

Trainspotting

I've finally recorded a version of this song that doesn't sound like shit. If I ever get a band off the ground, I hope this is the song the Hipsters fall in love with. I basically tried to rip off The Replacements, Neutral Milk Hotel, Nirvana and a bit of The Smiths. I think this is the best song I have up my sleeve to be honest. The final arrangement in my head is meant to have violin, piano and slide guitar parts, I intend this to be an epic finale to an album or something.

I originally named this Junkie Fucker, I reworked it a bit and tuned down two steps on my guitar. I think the title describes the absurd sadness better than Junkie Fucker. This is yet again a first take, It would be nice to get to a point where I can make the arrangements more diverse but, for now I'll use the old punk rock excuse and celebrate art brut mediocrity.

The Hangover Mass is mainly me (Dan Thompson) on vocals, guitar and very amateurish tin whistle, The quality of these recordings are pretty bad/done in single takes, I am mainly using to maybe get peeps interested in making a band and show them the direction taken thus far. Main Influences/ideal influences are Nirvana/Kurt Cobain, Neutral Milk Hotel, Titus Andronicus, Atlas Sound, The Replacements, Deerhunter, Elliott Smith, Iggy Pop/Iggy and The Stooges, Arcade Fire, The Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen, Marissa Nadler, Joanna Newsom, Beach House, Devendra Banhart, Simon and Garfunkel, Tallest Man on Earth, Jackson C Frank, Blind Willie Mc'Tell, Sleater Kinney, The Cure and The Velvet Underground/Lou Reed/John Cale/Nico. As seen by that huge list of influences, and the sparseness of my songs (being they are just guitar and vocals) I am looking for people who play weird and interesting instruments like violins, harps, horns, glockenspiels, slide guitar, bass to jam with. For percussion I want something RnB/Archaic sounding, like asian gongs/drums, clapping and bells.
