'Scrample Set' is the name of a Portland-based sound collective including electronic artists, Flowerpulse, Five Lights, and TrickAssedMarxist. 'Scrample Set' is also the working title of an electronic music event that seeks to express the freedom and joy of sample-based music. While working on a remix compilation album, the Set developed a cross-collaborative format that appears to be similar to very few outspoken models within contemporary electronic music. Drawing from a sound-pool of shared samples and underdeveloped fragments, the 'Scrample Set' has produced an evening's worth of audio which they assert to be the product of 'Scrampling.' According to the artists, this can be described as a type of cross-sampling within the context of an open collaboration which adheres to no predefined method of exchange or production. The Harmonic Series is thus pleased to present a set of electronic music that will emphatically blur the distinction between remix and original.
