Samples from Mars hosted a song contest, using instruments from their Kawai Dreams From Mars sample collection. I wrote and recorded this song, using all 15 instruments found in that collection. (adding drums and percussion, in accordance to the rules of the contest). Hope you enjoy!

Time For Tears (15 Dreams)

Written in 1994. Aside from the synth chords all of the sounds come from samples. The "kick drum" is actually a drum loop cut short with a random panning effect for added confusion.  

Exorcism

My sister dared me to make something using a drum patch on my Ensoniq TS-10 workstation called "NIN Closer". I'm not Trent Reznor, but I came up with something both me and sis were happy with.  

Heart Love (Edit)

A friend of mine was kicking around odd song titles and came up with "kicking the white donut".  It doesn't mean anything, but I liked it so much I wrote this little ditty just so I can have a song attached to the name. 

Kicking the White Donut

Written in 1989 by TDM and Preston James. We were horsing around with our synths when I came up with a bassline and Preston started with the melody. The song itself was written in about ten minutes using stock patterns on an HR-16 drum machine. 

However recording took longer as Preston was adding synth parts and I was reverse engineering the layered drums in order to make some variances and drum fills to flesh out the music. The entire process took a couple hours. 

The end product was named after my friend Pierre Cyr reviewed the music saying it was great to listen to while he was riding his bike. To this day I play this song when taking off the runway while on air flights. It turned into kind of a good luck charm. 

Music to Travel By (Featuring

While playing around with different rhythms I started putting together this song that sounds very, very much like another song I wrote. Can't help it if my creative juices sometimes regurgitate. Still enjoy this piece and will have to figure out how best to explain me being derivative of my own work.

Samples from Mars hosted a contest where you created a song using drums from their MPC2000 Snacks from Mars sample set. I used elements from all six drum kits offered in this set, and added a bass and synth from their OB From Mars collection and a few loops from their Acid From Mars collection.

All of the music you are hearing is written by myself along with a few collaborations. Everything is in raw demo mode. Someday I hope to refine the music and release it officially. However I'm lazy and have a hard time pushing forward. Still I want this music to reach out the world. Hope you like it in spite of the imperfections and incomplete nature.
