On the 11th of June 2011, my song "Jelly" was played at waveradio.gr in the Show "Call Your Shagged". - Mein Lied "Jelly" wurde genau heute vor fünf Jahren am 11.06.2011 vom Radiosender Waveradio in Griechenland in der Sendung "Call Your Shagged" gespielt. Was ein Erfolg!!!

Bereits 1978 begannen die Mitglieder der "The Ichs" Musik zu machen. Zunächst in einer lokalen Dilettanten-Band in Pfungstadt (bei Darmstadt), ab 1979 gemeinsam in der Formation Thomas und Volker Friedrich und Bernd Donabauer unter dem Pseudonym „The Ichs", ab 1982 Volker vorübergehend als Solist unter diesem Namen, womit sie es mit ihrem Stück "Kosmonautenglück" bis zu einer Erwähnung in der Musik-Zeitschrift „sounds" in der Ausgabe Mai 1982 schaffte Zitat: „...und Die Ichs, hohler Dillettantenlärm". Egal, Hauptsache erwähnt. Es war eben die Zeit des Punk in Deutschland.  
Die musikalischen Aktivitäten gerieten mit dem Ende des Jahres 1983 immer mehr ins Stocken, bis 1984 - nach einer kurzen Reunion der Dilletanten-Punkband - erst einmal Schluß mit Lustig war. 
Ende der neunziger Jahre wollte Volker die Band wieder aufleben lassen, jedoch war der Kontakt zu Bernd abgebrochen und Thomas zeigte kein Interesse mehr. Deshalb nahm Volker 1999 unter dem Bandnamen "The Ichs"  drei Stücke für eine geplante EP auf, die die unbegründeten Weltuntergangsängste zum Jahr 2000 thematisierten. Es waren die Stücke „Dämonischer Aufmarsch", „Atomarer Letztschlag" und „Die furchtbare Drohung des glasköpfigen Kults". Mangels Interesse eines Labels oder Verlags kamen die Stücke damals nicht zur Veröffentlichung.
Im August 2012 schaffte es "The Ichs" mit der "Gaasepolka" auf Platz 3 der iTunes-Comedy Charts. Im gleichen Jahr erschien die Weihnachtssingle "The Ichs Celebrate Christmas", die weltweit zu einem Download-Achtungserfolg wurde.
Anlässlich der gewonnenen Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft erschien im Juli 2014 die Single "Suppamario (The Super Mario Götze Explosion)".

By the end of the seventies , who was born in southern Hesse Seeheim- Jugenheim as Volker & Thomas Friedrich with Bernd Donabauer began to make music. First in a local Amateur-band , and later as " The Ichs " , by which they were to be mention with their track "Kosmonautenglück" in the music magazine " sounds" in the May 1982 issue managed Quote: " ... After several years of searching for inspiration Volker again wanted to reunion "The Ichs", but Thomas was not interested and the contact to Bernd was cutted. At the end of the nineties Volker recorded as "The Ichs" three pieces for a planned EP , which thematized the unfounded doomsday fears for 2000. There were pieces of " Demonic march ", " Atomic final blow " and " The terrible threat of the glass -headed cult " . The tracks were not published.
Then " The Ichs" made ​​it to the " Gaasepolka " at # 3 on the iTunes comedy charts in August 2012. In the same year "The Ichs Celebrate Christmas" was also a small download-success worldwide.
Because of winning the football-worldchampionship "The Ichs" published "Suppamario (The Super Mario Götze Explosion).
