PREMIERE: Armonica meets Dear Humans - Better With Time (Armonica Version) [Connected]

Grasping 2020 as the year to remember, we are unfolding 2021 with the highly-anticipated release from our Argentian friends Bridado Crew & Ubbah, who already shared their musical ideas with the remarkable split releases on Eleatics in 2018. This time Brigado Crew duo, who has already released their music via Diynamic, Stil Vor Talent and Eklektisch, joins Ubbah for 'Too Late' EP. The main track 'Too Late' is a driving banger, which is extensively concentrating ones' attention with the effective and bursting bass-line and low-end work. Vocals from the Australian singer Winnick are becoming the epicentre of the dynamic and explosive track, which will lit the focus of those, who love the floor-working things. Random synth playouts altogether with the noticeably working bass sounds plus the standalone Winnick's vocals takeover certainly bring the feeling of the energy. French producer Damon Jee had a fruitful 2020 year with the releases on Correspondant, Critical Monday and Fine Human from a few to mention, which led him to be one of the most sold artists of Indie Dance genre on Beatport. Known for his dark-disco brand style, Damon is shaping his remix catching the laid-back groove around main sounds from the original track multiplied with the dark-disco sound inherent to the remixers' sound. 'Time Moves On' has a very symbolic name. Mellow and palatable vocals alongside the melodic leitmotiv of the track are certainly bringing the right mood. Doctor Dru is the artist known for us since the previous decade. His sound always evolved into the right path, which is dictated by Dru's passion and devout love of electronic music combined with his years of experience and unerring will to roll out the very best tunes full of substance and dancefloor appeal. Releasing with Diynamic, Mobilee, Flying Circus and his own Jeudi Records, Doctor Dru has always been a figure to watch. Dru's remix brings the very best of Indie sound: colourful melodies and pads, mysterious vocals and the immense groove - that's what we have in the end. 'From a peninsula jutting out into the Mediterranean Sea, ARTN soars high above the Lebanon Mountains with immaculate “Kontrol”. An elemental groove rolls gently into the ocean where waves of sound pulsate softly through powerful bassline pattern. Delayed motifs ricochet, criss-crossing over each other in muted patterns and white-noise washes crash against the rocks in cascading sound.

Greek mythology meets modern day musical philosopher as Simos Tagias epitomises a fresh new sound. Reworking a bassline with consummate “Kontrol”, the beast is tamed with as LFOs slow and speed across reverberated synth lines while a glorious percussive groove forms a powerful bedrock. Straight from the sound garden, Weird Sounding Dude rises out of the bustling Bangalore metropolis with grace and dynamic energy. Smooth motifs drift alongside muted arpeggios as a driving beat and hypnotic percussion wrestle back “Kontrol”.

Analogue power permeates through northern Ukraine, Tech D finds a new “Kontrol” via sonic architecture that builds through relentless beat and soaring melodic phrases. The result is a stunning juxtaposition of sound that blends delicate touch with fascinating rhythms.'

Release Info: 
Rising from the storied history of Movement is a new concept imprint 'Ãstrαλ'. Meaning 'of the stars' - Astral Records can be thought of an ecstatic, mystical out-of-body experience, wherein the spiritual traveller leaves the physical body and travels in an astral body onto 'higher' realms. A fitting description for the musical blueprint of the label which looks to showcase the best in contemporary melodic house and techno.

Holding down the AandR duties is long-time Movement Recordings artist Paul Anthonee who has been operating at the heart of the genre since it's early beginnings. In addition to an extensive history with the Greek imprint, the Cyprus based producer has also showcased his music via Beatfreak Recordings, Lost On You, Parquet, Steyoyoke and Suara. It seems only fitting then that Astral's inaugural release comes courtesy of Paul himself who presents his most anticipated project to date 'A Word Beyond'.

Spread across four tracks it's the mystical, peak time vibes of 'Cukan' which sets the tone for the release. Bulbous beats, charged rhythms and striking effects begin the seven minute journey. Senses heighten as choir-like pads and atmospheric swells unite across a devilish first act. Heady modulation delights throughout the main break, flowing through a stimulating band of quirky hooks and unpredictability, before rising to a gaseous crescendo and driving final movement.

Continuing with the cosmic ethos of the EP is the more emotive yet equally powerful 'Matterna'. Anchored by a tight, rippling groove the energy is palpable from the outset. Ethereal phrasing and fiery percussion deliver dynamic moments early, as timely effects add depth and a rare ravey tension. Carrying into the second act, the otherworldly lead descends over a cavernous centrepiece, elevating mood before a wave of effects launches you into euphoria's top floor.

Marking the release's halfway point is the commanding 'Virgo'. Built on a backbone of tough beats and a crunchy groove, its ghostly nature is alluring from the start. Tranquil yet energetic, fragmented melodies and percussive flurries add dynamic splashes as momentum builds across the first act. The narrative shifts during the break with a further lean into ethereal territory, bringing arcane moments, before a timely drop transfers energy into an exhilarating finale. Adding further complement to its predecessor's is the final selection 'Kamara' with it's enlightening, psychedelic presence.

Another heady creation from Paul which not only aims squarely at the dance floor but rounds out the first Astral offering in fine style, with early support by BLANCAh, EdOne, Paul Angelo and Don Argento, Nohak, ao. Don't miss it.
