This is a song that JJ created late one Saturday night on the piano, drums, bass, and guitar. He then presented it to the rest of the Eclectic Collective so we could do our thing with it. Josh replaced JJ's rough bass with his interpretation of the line as soon as Ken replaced the drums with his interpretation of the beat. Interestingly, Ravel's Bolero had a lot to do with the inspiration for the second part of the song. After the rhythm section was done, we turned it over to Stephen, who came up with some really subtle, yet much needed guitar lines. 

 We then turned it over to our relatively new collaborator, Mark, who came up with the lyrics and vocals. This is a lyrical and vocal songwriting debut for Mark, who was inspired by his very first listen to JJ's rough draft. Thus, this song is extra special for him.  

Mark's lyrics are about our Earthly relatives in the far distant future. At that point life on Earth will have just about reached its limits, and so mankind embarks on a journey through space to find another place to call home.

We all hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we did creating it.

Ken sent Tez the drums for the track High Noon (with Entheogenic Psychonaut and TexMex Shaman) with the aim of building up a new track - a worthy challenge :))))
Tez did a touch of remixing of the drum track and added the guitars and bass before inviting J.J. to add the finishing touches with his keys adding a new sonic dimension.

Bad Noon Rising-Eclectic Collective

High up in the north of Ireland once lived a giant; Fionn mac Cumhaill was his name. His castle was perched on the steepest cliff on the coast and its tower was so high that it tickled the clouds on his belly. For the giant, however, it was only three steps over the cliffs down to the water, and even when a storm raged, the foaming surf did not reach beyond his shoulders.

Fionn led a quiet life with his beloved wife Oonagh: Early in the morning he went hunting, during the day he looked after his cattle and in the evening he ate a delicious meal prepared by Oonah by the fire. Occasionally, however, when the sun tickled his beard too warmly or the rain pattered so heavily that even his giant head felt the drops, he felt like arguing. Fionn needed someone with whom he could measure his strength. But there was no one in the whole country who dared to do so, and that annoyed Fionn immensely. What good was it for a man to be the strongest guy in the country if he didn't have anyone who wanted to fight him?

One mild evening, Fionn had had enough of this misery. He stepped outside his castle, raised his voice and shouted so loudly that even the sound of the sea fell silent: "Am I surrounded by nothing but cowardly clucking chickens and worms crawling pathetically on their bellies?  Where are you, warrior, who dares to fight an honest battle with me? Dare to come out of your hole in the ground and stand up to fight Fionn McCumhaill!"

And what the giant had not expected happened: he received an answer!"You call me a pathetic crawling worm, Fionn McCumhaill? Ha! The worm is you, and if you open your mouth any wider, I'll crush you under my thumbnail and throw your guts to the whales!" It was Benandonner, Fionn's Scottish neighbor, whom he sometimes saw walking on the cliffs beyond. Benandonner's words enraged Fionn even more. Did that fellow over there really think he was stronger than Fionn? Furious, he hurled an insult back at him and in no time at all a huge argument was underway.
