Slipstream

As a classically trained creatrix, Jan's multifarious music generates atmosphere in all genre's from blues, funk, rock, pop to jazz. Channeling emotion into rhythm, thoughts into lyrics, soul into song, the music embody's all. It's funkified fusion dripping in guitar where serpentine phrasing and energy resounds into a wacky dance of universal truth. Whether Jan is playing with her alt rock power trio or her loop pedal, pouring passion into her performance, folks rip up the dance floor to this original multigenerational music. Jan's an electrified communicator, continually reinventing her musical self.

Some recent projects of Jan's include an Alt Rock power trio called The Jan Van Gold Band and a live loop duo called PolySonic Tonic. Jan spent 2014 touring as a solo act, travelling from BC to Saskatchewan and back. 

Jan is excited to announce she will be touring with a new rhythm section this year featuring JJ Buttle on bass and Jerry Hamilton on drums. Both come to the project with years of experience playing and touring, Jerry with Sonny Rhodes and JJ with Darkfire Cloud and the Lightening band.

Jan's 7th CD release 'A Live To Thrive' is a live recording of The Jan Van Gold Band performing at the Stage Door in Cranbrook, BC.  Jan is currently working in the studio and will be celebrating her 8th CD release of original material later this year. "Slipstream" is a sneak preview from the upcoming cd release of the same name "Slipstream".

Jan tours and performs everywhere, from art openings to jazz festivals. She recently completed a East/West Kootenay tour with The Jan Van Gold Band, thanks to a touring grant from the Columbia Basin Trust and Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance. The band will be on tour in 2015, once again being generously funded by the CBT/CKCA.
