Two things I didn’t know about Carole King.

When I was a kid, I heard on the radio “It might as well rain until September” I just loved it and searched it out many years later to find out it was her song and her version in particular.

Many years later whilst listening to a favourite guitarist Nils Lofgren, he recorded the track “Goin’ Back” Again I instantly connected to the warmth of the song. This was written by Goffin-King with a Nils interpretation.

I don’t know what touches me about both of these songs. Is it their simplicity, honesty and craftsmanship?

We’ve not covered a song for many years but this one had to be done.

With influences and thanks to both artists, this is a small homage to Carole King and Nils Lofgren
