Kareem, Founder of Zhark Recordings Berlin, has been presenting heavy armoured track material since the year 1996 challenging the auditory, pushing them deep into the abyss.   His definition of the Zharkesthetic lies in conveying a claustrophobic state: an atmosphere of threatening sound architecture constantly challenging the innocuous conventions of the electronic medium(s).

Ex.Hale is the brainchild of Italian multi-disciplinary artist Francesco Presotto. 
Ex. Hale’s music is characterised by dark, atmospheric textures that is driven by a modern vision of club music. The project is focused on the deconstruction of common compositional standards with the addition of crushing rhythm structures that establishes the unusual framework of Ex.Hale’s subversive approach. 

With releases on Sonic Groove, Rudiment, and Voidance, in addition to soundtracks for fashion runways and design companies and to an increasing number of performances in clubs, museums and festivals around Europe, Ex.Hale has become a formidable force in electronic and experimental music.

Yong Ying is a Berlin-based DJ originally from Hong Kong, known for her passion for creating captivating dance-floor journeys. With a unique blend of techno, industrial, broken beats, experimental sound, noise, and EBM, her sets tell a story filled with heart-pounding bass and pulsating rhythms, seamlessly crafting a dark sonic tapestry.

Her sound is an exploration of emotion and identity, reflecting her diverse background and the vibrant cultures that shape her artistry. She believes the dance floor is a sanctuary for shared exploration and profound connection. Besides having performed at prominent clubs like Tresor, Oxi, MO1, and Watergate, she is a resident DJ at Mihn Club in Hong Kong and a member of the music collective Entropy 熵.

This mix is a little tribute to her set at Tresor back in February. Since she was unable to capture the performance live, she has recreated the essence of that night in this set.
