Fresh from the underworld of overdeveloped cul-de-sac sprawl between Baltimore and D.C comes…The Longfellow Project – a young hip-hop duo that crafts tracks like apocalyptic survivalists sifting through the rubble of today’s pop music on a mission to reconstruct progressive rock of the past into flows for the future. Throw in a few helpings of video games, horror movies, and Saturday morning cartoon characters and you may start to get the picture. But don't stare, you might miss a verse.
The collaboration of Beyond Z and Dylan K has recently constructed an epic, self produced 80 minute concept album. Rise of the Octopus, the group’s 2nd release, spans the length of 24 tracks. Singles include ‘Right Now,’ ‘Ready for Adventure’ and their “Zombie Trilogy,” the three chapter story-song hybrid ‘Nuclear Cannibal Holocaust.’ Staying true to their cores, the single ‘Our Town’ is their call of appreciation to their roots in Charm City.
Longfellow performs throughout the greater Baltimore area, supporting and incorporating local musicians and artists. Vocalist Jacqueline Morgia performs on their singles ‘Cave of Twilight’ and ‘Right Now.’ Spray Paint artist Zachary Reed-Harris provides the album art, executing live demos at their shows as well. Deejay JBZ, transforming Beyond Z’s productions, captivates the audience with his own mix of the LFP for every performance.
