Championed by the likes of Seth Troxler, Guy Gerber and Tiga, the former Footprintz member turned solo star has set his musical sights on the incense-filled Multi Culti chill-out room.

Following recent releases on Visionquest, Supplement Facts, Life & Death, and Turbo, Clarian continues a run of musically diverse, emotionally resonant songs with this three track EP. Ma Shiva stands out immediately in every way: it’s a mid-tempo pop ballad that takes as its refrain one of the most popular Hindu mantras. It’s a total one-off that has a certain familiarity to it without actually sounding quite like anything specific… except, oddly enough, maybe a dash of 80s-era Leonard Cohen in the phrasing of the verses. Open Your Eyes takes the tempo down even lower, into laid-back Talking Heads territory. Taking on such a wide range is an impressive feat, a show of great confidence from the young Montreal-based producer. It’s no wonder he’s been courted by some of the biggest names in the house scene as both a writer and producer. Rounding off these two languid anthems is Dystopia, a dragon-stick-juggling bazaar-ride of inner-exoticism. Progressive - even for progressive!

In remix support are the always-awesome Invisible Conga People, long overdue to release more original music. For the time being we’ll have to content ourselves with this epic, meandering acid dub rework of the title track.

By combining brazilian rhythms with elements of techno, dubby house and plenty of bird sounds they create a unique bunch of vivid slow jams to get lost in.
Beeing already a classic in the infamous circles, „Xaxoeira“ is finally available on vinyl! This vibey masterpiece is the straightest of the bunch, a proper slow-mo House tune, with a dark flute sample and a broken organ that grinds its way into the deepest corners of your brain.
Nicola Cruz delivers a superb remix of „Xaxoeira“ which adds rolling percussions and delay madness to the original material.

Return To Paradise (Nicola Cruz Remix)

Since joining the label in early 2016, Turkish mystery man Ali Kuru has released two superb EPs, with a debut album of evocative musical blends – think dub, disco, downtempo grooves, humid exotica, and authentic middle eastern instrumentation - dropping in July.

Ahead of the album, we have decided to hand over the parts to a clutch of Kuru’s tracks to a hand picked team of remixers. Predictably, all have delivered, serving up versions that retain the essence of Kuru’s atmospheric productions, whilst taking the tracks in a variety of beguiling new directions.

First to feature are cosmic disco pioneer Daniele Baldelli and production partner Dario Piana, fresh from dropping an inspired EP of their own on Leng. Their version of “Ashoka” successfully wraps feverish Persian instrumentation and vintage synthesizer chords around a rock-solid rhythm track and bold electronic bassline. The result is not so much ‘Afro-cosmic’, as ‘Arabic-cosmic’.

Next up is long time friend of the label Craig Bratley, whose hypnotic, chugging interpretation of “Zurna” – all crispy snares, dubbed-out electronic motifs, exotic vocals and snaking lead lines – recalls the finest moments on his essential Magic Feet label.

On the flip, you’ll find a pair of revisions from artists who made their name on Multi Culti, a label specializing in the kind of global dancefloor fusions that are near impossible to pigeonhole.

First up is Nicola Cruz, who successfully transforms “Return To Paradise” via an intoxicating blend of loose cumbia rhythms, dub bass, lilting guitar lines and deep space effects. If Ali Kuru met Adrian Sherwood in Columbia for a jam session, it would probably sound a little like Cruz’s fabulous rework.

Peter Power travels further towards the atmospheric depths on his version of “Lost Bedouin”. More horizontal and clandestine in town, the producer makes great use of Kuru’s haunting flute lines and evocative field recordings. The resultant remix is gentle in tone and tempo, but also ethereal in its’ druggy, early morning outlook. Like the other three tracks, it’s a very fine remix.

On the ‘Lotus’ EP, Yør Kultura reveals a more melodic side of their musical realm. Gritty synth lines, strong percussion work and rolling basses invoke the spirits of places not yet discovered. Mysterious vocal samples sing the blues on this journey through various psychedelic worlds. The sultan of hamam swing Mehmet Aslan, crafts a sublime version of 'Willow' on B2, giving a Turkish twist by adding extra guitars and percussions. 33 & 45rpm playback is tested and highly recommended.

Castello Dança: Sintoma is the re-reading of the album Sintoma of the Brazilian singer-songwriter Castello Branco.

Sintoma is an entry inside the Castello’s soul. Seeing the evolution and the path of how the mold of his path, coming from being raised in a different community, living in a monastery for most of his life, and how is resonates after being in contact with this Brazil of today. Complicated times that are in the need of a light and love.

From this "Ufolclore", is born delicate arrangements and meditative frequencies that vibrate an elegant path, bringing us, in the speech, the evolution classes of the “being’’.

Eleven composers were invited to remix all the tracks from ‘’Sintoma’’ : Thomash, Nu, Cosmic & Damião, Gerra G, Billy Caso, Barda, Spaniol, Holger Hecler, Tomás Tróia, Pigmalião, M.RUX.

Castello Dança - Providência (NU Remix)

On the 6th EP of Mousike Records; DJ Nirso brings two very distinctive songs connected through their African-American musical roots.

The title track of the EP “Benção” has drums and percussions that resonate deep into the African influence of Brazilian culture and at the same time brings an introspective feeling through its electronic elements and repetitions. Second song “Cumbiastatke” is a mix between Cumbia, the latin-american rhythm that has it's roots deep into Africa, and Ethiopian modern music, with strong and profound melodies played in mysterious oriental scales.

Benção will be out on July 31st with Borchi and Santi & Tuğçe Remixes.
