LOST ZEPPELIN TAPES???? Nope, but pretty cool just the same.
  I’ve been on a real Zeppelin kick for the past while and that has ultimately permeated into my song writing and recording process.  After recording this song idea I thought to myself, “If only I could invite Robert Plant over to sing…”  I let the recording sit for a few weeks but then thought it might be amusing to drag just his vocal performance from Whole Lotta Love.  To my surprise, with no editing it fit the tempo pretty much perfectly. 
With the right tools and the proper skills, a small digital studio can do the same job as a large analogue studio can do, in a fraction of the time.  This particular example would take hours of setup in a large studio before ever pressing record, while it only took minutes in my work space. WHOLE LOTTA TECHNOLOGY!

DOES YOUR MIX NEED A MAKEOVER?

Like a lot of musicians, you probably have a shoebox or hard drive full of song ideas and multitrack recordings kicking around. These recordings either were never finished or they may not have been going in the musical direction you had intended and eventually abandoned. 
THE MATT SCOTIA BAND from London, Ontario recently had me work on a mix makeover for their song “SPACE WALKIN’”. Small production details like adding a Hammond organ, Mellotron, new bassline and mix from the ground up make a big impact on the final result.
The first 40 seconds is the original mix and the next 40 is the same passage but with a mix makeover.

This is a custom music bed I recorded today for a western clothing and tack shop. The client was looking for a modern rock country sound. This track was composed, recorded and mixed in 8 hours by me at my studio in London ON.
