Hello everyone.
This track was something that had knocked around for a while, and like all my own songs, I tend to revisit from time to time to try to structure it.
This is a rough demo of me trying to come up with a bass line (mistakes included!) a rough guitar idea, and some strings to get some ideas to orchestrate it a bit. No vocals yet (thank goodness, as I hate singing!).
It's kind of interesting to get a feel for a song, and how to play it in this way, as I haven't got a band to bounce ideas off. It worked enough to carry on, and re-record with more structure and lyrics, which will also be posted here.

Yours Faithfully (Rough Demo Instrumental)

Hi Everyone,
After much messing with the structure of the demo, I came up with this, which is a more rounded version of the song. Only problem was suffering with a cold whilst I did the vocals....
I know it's far from perfect, but it was the best I could do at the time.
The bass line is much tidier now and more rhythmic, with accompanied percussion & drums. 
I never know when to leave these things alone though, and have come up with better lyrics during the last couple of days, and a new idea for the ending, but hey-ho, as someone very dear to me says a lot...

Yours Faithfully (Sort of Finished)

Hello Everyone,
This is an idea I'm fiddling with. Here is the backline (mostly bass & drums) with a few other sounds thrown in. It's nowhere near finished, but I like getting my ideas down as I think of them.
You can even here the metronome on this, so you can tell it's in the early stages.
I've realised that for the most part that I write songs "bottom up" (don't laugh!) - meaning I come up with bass lines and rhythm first, rather than a melody or chords.
Anyway, hope you enjoy listening, and let's see if I can get this project moving again pretty soon.

The Edge Of The World (Back Line Demo)

Hi Everyone,
I thought I'd revisit this song and mess about adding some guitar overdubs to the ending.
Thinking of replacing the crappy midi guitar solo in the middle with some rhythmic piano, but that'll have to wait until I've got a bit of time to work it out.

Ghettoblasting

This is a song all about celebrity culture, it's been around a while.
I often look at the covers of magazines and newspapers and see the faces of the day smiling out, usually with their latest squeeze - I wonder if they're really happy?
There's all the adulation, media attention, wealth etc etc, so it's assumed they are.
Then I think of Marilyn, and despite all of the things that go with fame, I reckon she was pretty unhappy. maybe all she needed was a proper friend who didn't care about "who she was" . . . .
