was playing tunes with a two fellas a few weeks back and one of them played this one, previously unknown to me. I really liked it so set out to learn it. Played on an '08 Eastman 805. Still getting used to the small frets on the Eastman but by and large find it to be very playable.

The Marino Waltz

one of me favourite tunes, but I've only had the tenor banjo for a few days so still getting used to the stretch on the left hand and the distance between the strings when using the plec - there's a few ghost notes here and there, but mainly I wanted to just hear what the Silver Bell sounds like.

Dancing Eyes (jig)

played on a 1924 Bacon & Day Silver Bell #1 short scale tenor banjo! This banjo actually survived Hurricane Katrina - previous owner was the banjo player at Preservation Hall and the banjo got trashed during the hurricane, but has been brought back to life by Vinnie Mondello in TX, banjo restoring genius! Playing is a bit rough as I'm still getting used to the longer scale as compared to the mandolin.

aging punk rocker - played guitar in bands for years, moved to the States from quiet East Galway, obsessed with trad music and the mandolin. Also play tenor banjo and desperate for a tenor guitar. Fond of a nice cup of tea, a good pint, bicycles, dogs, and association football.
