By the end of 1990 Bivins, the Original founding member left from the 1962 group.To continue the legacy, he brought in Charles Hardy & Harsey Hemphill, (who both had audition for him in October of 1990). Then Alvin Pazant, and Lee Williams ( the one who they wanted, to replace their Original lead singer George Smith). For the last 25 years these same members have been together. We are sadden by the passing of the founder Edward "Sonny" Bivins, and Original Bass Winfred "Blue" Lovett. The Manhattans will continue on, with the vision that Sonny had back in 1962, to record great music, that will last forever!
