This is an instrumental full of energy with some twists and turns involved. I am joined in this project with the following excellent musicians; Giampiero Giamp-electric guitars; Tedd VanWagner-bass; Pete Goindi-drums; Fred White-keys &  synths. This was meant to be a spoof of love songs when I began writing it, but as I added the last verse, the song did a 90 degree turn and became quite serious. The beautiful piano intro was created by Herve Southman who has many of his own tunes on Fadalism. Marc Roberge added the drums and he also has many songs posted on Fandalism. "Alternatives" by MEL DONOVAN featuring HERVE SOUTHMAN AND MARC ROBERGE

Annemiek posted a very short video of her way of dealing with stress. I was inspired to sing the melody I heard in my head. The subject is simply what her sense of humor does for the rest of us. Recorded this in 20  minutes, right after hearing her post.....it is more a message to her than an attempt at making a "hit" .

Herve recorded his composition on piano and was kind enough to send it to me, so that I could add to it if I was moved to do so. Of course I was very moved to do so!! This is quite a change in style for me, but connecting to the basic feelings in any song is really where I start from any ways, so even though the style is different, the method of achieving the end results was about the same.  We hope you enjoy our combined creative spirits!!

One Life2 - Herve Sothman+Mel Donovan.WAV

This is a rendition of a song we performed as Traveller and finally recorded as a group of 4 songs before we disbanded. We performed this live almost every time we played somewhere and this is one of the original tunes people came to know us by.  I have recently received a few requests for this tune and had the chance to rescue the song from the original studio stereo tape recording. We went to Kjem Studios, just outside of Philly in Sept. 1983 and recorded 4 tunes on their 24 track tape machine.  We hope you enjoy our tune!

Money&Fame - Donovan+Cholie with Friends

This original tune includes lyrics and vocals by Melani Cholie, with synth intro and finale by Pierre Rosique.  Kent Taylor handled the drums and bass synth as well as doing the final mixing and mastering.  I was inspired by some videos of men walking on the moon during the Apollo program and you can see that they started out very cautious in the first walks to just having a great time up there near the last walks.
