The Mighty Stef began with Singer and Songwriter Stefan Murphy from Dublin in Ireland. Starting his quest as a one man show he has since included in his band a huge number of different local musicians and friends. 

Together they have toured extensively, recorded 3 full length albums and earned the respect of audiences and listeners in many corners of the world. The most recent album 'TMS and The Baptists' was made in Berlin with 'The Baptists' two of whom now form the foundation of the current TMS line-up, namely Gary Lonergan and Brian Gallagher. 

The sound has evolved and revolved around Murphys streetwise storytelling. elements of folk, blues and country, fused with rock n roll and some poppy hooks are always present. The live shows over the years have ranged from earnest solo performances, Furious punk shows akin to the house-party days of 'The Libertines' up to the present day where the gigs can be as passionate as Springsteen and as euphoric as the Arcade Fire. 

A new record will be recorded in 2011 that will finally try to capture the sound of a band that are really finding their stride with a leader that is looking more determined than ever.
