The Milestones literally lit up the music world with Jadoo back in early 90s. It was a song that defined band’s career and eclectic style in a short period of time. 
Jadoo ,written and composed by Ali Tim is an experimental track. His two chord formula is evident over the entire length of the song. Ziyyad Gulzar’s magical guitar work and Candy’s incredible voice has lent it a high level of positive energy.

Jaan-e-Jan, one of the most popular track of The Milestones repertoire happened when it’s guitarist Ziyyad imposed a ban on Ali Tim from composing more songs in Major scales. “ I want to play guitar chops in between chords in a Minor key”, he made his intention clear. Ali took the job assignment home and returned after three days. He had done a song as per his band leader’s desire. The Milestones named it Jaan-e-Jan. The rest as they say is history.

Aandhi aur Tofaan is dedicated to the sportspersons of Pakistan. The idea of this track came from The Milestones manager Sajjad Panjwani (God bless his soul). One day he called for a band meeting inside his beautiful haveli in Karachi. and asked the trio to come up with a song to pay a hearty  tribute to the Pakistani cricket team. He asked for words Aandhi and Tofaan to be used in the tribute anthem. The process of the song writing started right away on two acoustic guitars under his supervision. Ali Tim put Aaandi and Tofaan in a tune and Ziyyad came up with the chords for the verses. The song was finalised and  recorded in a matter of few days.

Na Ja Jaana

Sapna the ballad of love is soothing, post sunset listening. This song is based on a sentimental theme. 
Sapna was written by Ali Tim in 1990 with the help of a prominent Rhythm and Blues guitarist Shareb Jaffar. He helped write the chord structure of Sapna and finalized it’s choruses for Ali to gift it to The Milestones. 
Behind the catchy melody of Sapna is Ziyyad’s genius on guitars and keyboards. Candy’s beautiful harmonies on Sapna make it more dreamy. After all Sapna is a walk through a dream.

MEIN is a heart-wrenching ballad that captures the raw emotions of isolation and the struggle to cope with the void within. The lyrics of MEIN paint a vivid picture of life and moments that have become a painful reminder of what once was. 
Throughout MEIN, the intelligent instrumentation by Ziyyad Gulzar mirrors the emotional intensity expressed by Ali Tim in his lyrics. Candy’s voice soars, conveying the heart break and yearning for the time to turn back.

The Milestones were a Pakistani pop rock band that formed in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, in 1990. The group was formed by lead guitarist, Ziyyad Gulzar and bassist, Ali Tim, who were soon joined by female lead vocalist, Candy Pereira. The Milestones were one of the pioneer bands of the local pop music scene, quite a few of which even did well at the local music charts. Since its inception, the band only released two studio albums with performing innumerable concerts and gigs, receiving worldwide acclaim.
