Originally written as an acoustic track by Paul Winter, this was adopted by the band and changed beyond all recognition. Quite a rockin' wee number.

This is a wee song that germinated from a bass line provided by Stuart. Wee John stuck a lead line on it, Paul chopped some rhythm, then went home and wrote some lyrics. BOOM..job done! :)

This is wee cracker that came from our collective love of US soul music, a homage if ye will. Bryn's driving beat really carries it, and Wee John's riff is total class. Great bass, and no bad lyrics, enjoy.

Light Of My Life (live)

This started out as an acoustic track written by Paul before being taken to a new level by the Sweepers. It's a song about doomed plans, and how life can really mess up personal goals. In this case, the lyrics are concerned with the author's dismay at finding out, at a very young age, that he was colourblind, which sank any hopes of following in his Father's footsteps and joining the Royal Navy, which was his boyhood dream.

The bones of this song were put together in 20 minutes, by three of us, Mark was away fixing a gas meter, hence why it's called 'Threesome', nae sexual connotations, move along, nothing to see. It's a song of hope..

Light Of My Life

The Mind Sweepers are a quintet from South West Scotland comprising Paul Winter (vocals/rhythm guitar/songs and lyrics), John McInally (lead guitar), Mark Jardine (bass guitar), and Bryn Thorburn (drums/percussion/photography). We were formed in May of 2014 and had completed our set, before there was a line-up change so we had to start again. Another change at the tail-end of '15 brought about John as our new lead guitarist and the band sound has finally levelled out to be our strongest yet. Now, in Autumn, '16, we have hopefully reached our final line-up with the addition of Mark on bass, as well as being super-keen on sound experimentation and tech. The songs have evolved with the new additions and we've found ourselves to be drifting into places we never dreamed possible with regard to experimentation and originality. We have a strong work ethic, we rehearse every week, and treat every gig as though it was a showcase in front of EMI. We had teething troubles with the sound in our early days and have found the addition of a sound tech has laid that bane to rest. We're based in S/W Scotland but we've played all over the country, dependent on available funds obviously. We've played large festivals, intimate pub gigs, charity do's, and acoustic radio slots. We're up for ocht! :)
