Another magical weekend at Springkell in Scotland (In November 2022 )with a great bunch of heads. So many talented artists were present and blew me away with their music and selections. This set was played in warmup territory at 6:30pm  on day 2 with x2 Technics and with a nice buzz in the room.

German selector Lux, equally known for her storytelling skills in ambient and leftfield electronica, just as she is for her control of the dance floor via diverse house, electro and techno, provides the first arch podcast of 2023. In this serene 70+ minute trip we dive into cascading dub sequences, filtering waves of synthesised melody, and sparse minimalist dub electronics.

Abby Echiverri (@echiverri) is a multi-talented producer, musician, DJ, VJ and sound engineer based in Brooklyn, NY. 
Since discovering her music via "Ab Initio" (her 2018 EP on @thebunkerny), our collective have been followers and fans of Abby and the refined yet vibrantly contrasting qualities of her sound. 

Always looking ahead, Abby's explorative approach has a knack of finding intelligent interplays between elements; groove and psychedelic abstraction, lushness and angularity. But most compelling is the naturally hopeful quality that underpins much of her work, providing a sense of freedom and playfulness. 

Needless to say, we're very excited to welcome Abby onto the Patterns of Perception imprint for our third release - her "Deformation" EP. 

And so, Abby Echiverri's Patterns of Perception 113 is a celebration. For this, she has prepared a special hybrid live/DJ set which both channels and expands on the energy and spirit from her release. Bold, diverse rhythms thrum within a kaleidoscopic haze. Sleek energy escalates, approaching catharsis. A cosmic radiance shifts, glancing ever upward.

For the next Deep Mind Music mix, Seattle-based DJ Aos takes the listener on a texturally rich and emotional 50-minute journey. Aos is a member of Seattle’s TUF and secondnature collectives, and also produces music as well. Whether listening to her mixes or tracks, you can hear her keen ear for balancing space, colour, energy and emotion.

It feels fitting to put her mix out at the start of September, as the leaves slowly turn and the winds blow colder. A time for reflection and decompression ahead of the coming winter months. Throughout the mix, soft pads swirl like falling leaves amongst spacious and delicately-balanced sound design; interspersed with acoustic instruments, snippets of field recordings and singing, there’s an organic and grounded energy to this mix.
