Iko Iko

A production team that consists of two multi-instrumentalists/songwriters; Mike Krasnowski (vocals, keys, guitars) and Mike Greenwood (guitars, synthesizers), The Moorelands Project creates commercially appealing music that occasionally enlists musicians from across the Greater Toronto Area.

In the summer of 2010 the concept for a Rock Hop and Roll band, which also functioned as an all-encompassing production team, was beginning to take shape. Though the duo has had many years of practice performing and writing for separate bands, the idea for a production team and thus subsequently a genre-bending album came only to fruition by means of dedication and good timing. Since both members were finishing up post-secondary degrees studying music, they decided to blend their tastes and talents with their academic knowledge to try and create something unique, inspiring and catchy. What was born is The Moorelands Project; a band/production team, and self-titled debut EP that takes the listener on a journey through several varieties of popular music while still maintaining a steady rhythm, catchy melodies and meaningful lyricism. 

While a release date for the LP has not yet been finalized, sometime in Early Fall 2011 the band estimates, they continue to collaborate with local artists to discuss upcoming projects and ideas, hold writing sessions, film videos from the studio and create new music for simple download. This in-house production style has given the team complete control so far over everything from the creation to the marketing of their music. 

The Moorelands Project understands the challenges and complexities of the music industry, giving them an imaginative, yet professional viewpoint. Emerging from a suburban studio just outside Toronto, this songwriting/production duo plans to use their savvy not only to craft their own unique digital wall of sound, but also their ascent into the music industry.
