For 20 years I would only sing these songs in sacred ceremonies or sacred music festivals, but the times are changing, and I feel the call to share them with the world, just I have been doing with my instrumental music for all these years. 

These songs are intimate messages and prayers that I have received in the deepest folds of my heart. They’ve guided my steps through the transformative years I have been walking on a spiritual path and a medicine path.

Where Spirits Live

“Óniro” means “dream” in Greek.
This song was channeled during a music therapy session at Bonjuk Bay (Marmaris, Turkey) in 2022.

During this time, I was struggling with a relationship that looked like it was out of a dream yet… didn’t go forward!

While I was improvising during my session, I was thinking and feeling the pain of the “loss” and the words came to me in Greek.

Years went by and several recordings took place but yet, I wasn’t happy with the final result and doubted the state I was and the energy I was emanating while sharing the song.

Until my friend Markus Lehto from Red Fox Studios (Istanbul, Turkey), decided to capture the song and give it a twist.

More back and forth happened for nearly one a half year, until we reached the sweet spot and decided to release the dream!

So… here it is! Unlike the original idea which contained only vocals and guitar, Markus and I added layers of other instruments and he decided to give it a downtempo electronic twist alongside a bunch of effects on the vocals, to create a “dreamy” atmosphere.

Finally the dream is released and we invite you to dream with us and to remember to have hope and believe in the infinite possibilities and ways that dreams can manifest. Every tomorrow is another opportunity to dream again!

I wish it nourishes your ears and your soul.

Hi!
My name is Dimitri Dermencioglu and I am an artist who "lives in music".

Throughout 32 years in the world of music, I have changed many hats and have been known under different names.

All those names turned into temporary personas/projects that gifted me with extensive experience in the areas of music, celebration and ritual, also took me around the world.

Today, my experiences, has become a school of thought, study and practice
that I call "Frequency Lifestyle".

"The Music Medicine" is the last project/persona I have been known for.

A living experience in the exploration, study and sharing of diverse musical approaches and schools of thought/practice, blending and influenced by tradition and modernity, spirituality & and science, celebration & and meditation.

A living school of the science and mysticism of medicinal music, as practised around the world for aeons!

Whether through the mediums of ethnomusicology, music therapy, instrumentalism, composition, DJ ing, or event organisation, the mission of "The Music Medicine" is to use music and celebration as a learning process.

A way to bring people and cultures together, to awaken creativity and potential, to learn and to share the effects of music and sound that comes from the heart and eventually, to foster harmony & joy wherever it passes from!
