The mix starts with Amy Douglas' first ever track released on DFA records, a label I'm a massive fan of that is remixed by Crooked Man, an absolute peach of a tune.

++ How and where was the mix recorded? ++
It was recorded at my studio using other people's music.

++ What was the idea behind the mix? ++
The idea was to have bass orientated theme but with a melodic flow.

++ How (if in any way) is the mix influenced by Cuba? ++
Most of the melodies I picked I feel have a latin flavour to them.

++ What excites you most about the journey to Santiago? ++
I'm looking forward to going somewhere on the planet that is not American influenced. I grew up listening to Mongo Santamaria. Cuba is just across the way from where my parents come from: Jamaica. I think there are deep ties throughout the Caribbean. I'm sorry I'm not a religious person but I'm into deeper feelings. I'm going there to taste the spirit. The musicians I've heard are unbelievably talented and I believe I have something to share.

++ Are you going to be preparing for the trip in any way? ++
Yes, I'm bringing all my music, ready to jam.

A week before the Wicked 21 year anniversary, its seems appropriate for me to upload a classic set from another long-ago celebration...

This Garth set is from the one year anniversary for Ooga Booga, probably Sacramento's best underground club, ever.  (modest?  no...  lol).  Classic set...  and a really Wicked time was had by all!

This is the original WAV file, recorded at 32K on Digital Audio Tape, June 17th, 1994.

I'll be uploading, and alternating these old DATs regularly now that I've got 12 hours on Soundcloud.  Keep an eye out for more really, really, soon!
