The Enfield Mystery [Documentary]

On October 31, 1981, the Silver Bluff Paranormal Society (SPS) investigated the infamous Enfield Manor in Silver Bluff, South Carolina. They disappeared afterward. In 1983, damaged recordings were discovered of that night. The audio was repaired as best as it could, and archived with the The Silver Bluff Historical Society.

They found the ship adrift just beneath the cloud strata. Power levels were at less than 5%; life support had failed centuries ago. The hulk was abandoned - no cargo, no remains, none save for the skeletal figure who lay in decayed preservation at the helm. Was that a spacefaring environment suit or its natural, epidermal covering? Its empty sockets gazed upon the vista of the cosmos before it, and with a rictus grin, its clawed appendage seemed to be pointing toward the planet orbiting in the vacuum before the mammoth ship. 

Ceres. Eden. That's what Earth called it, but what did the pilot of this ship call it? The pilot, whose stature was five times that of a human, and yet, whose image was eerily similar.

The ship's hold was arranged in such a manner to denote its once-full capacity, but full of what? Bio scans revealed that once there was organic matter on the ship - organic matter that matched life forms on Earth; and yet, this ship predated known civilization by several hundred millennia.

Ceres orbited before the ship, ambivalent to the cosmic struggle of mortality, uncaring at the passage of Time, and the only cosmic being who knew the fates of the creatures that perhaps were once on its surface. 

Had he just found God? Had God been travelling to this planet? A caretaker of its myriad creatures? Had He been enroute back to Earth, speeding to deliver His promises and prophecies, when something unfortunate crippled the vessel? Or, was this deceased figure a totem of Noah, figurehead of civilization's history; harbinger of life upon the tides of world-rending change? Time had hidden those answers, perhaps never to be discovered.

Aboard the lifeless vessel, the remains of the pilot grinned at the helm, as the footsteps of the explorer echoed in the vacuum of silence, further into the ship's empty corridors.
