These days the sky has become a milder blue, 
wrapping the world in sheer transparency 
touching, like the moon touches trees 

with soft fingers, the hours of our lives.
Whispers in the leaves speak of Autumn's 
dreams and the death of sunlight in the west.

Your eyes too have acquired a deep and richer texture:
golden-brown hazel like fields of barley 
swaying in the autumn breeze - they whisper 
a softer melody in the halls of your heart
