The album was tracked live and produced in a warehouse in Melbourne on reel to reel tape by Paul Maybury. Maybury recently produced the Melbourne psych Rock ‘n’ Roll powerhouse King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard’s LP ‘12 Bar Bruise’ and he has a huge catalog of lo-fi live recordings to boot.

The lyrics carry this record and they will spin your mind sideways "Busy bee please tell me when to rest, when your on the road of love in excess". The bands debut LP is heavily influenced by Syd Barretts solo release 'The Madcap Laughs'. The all-time classic Barrett track 'Octopus' says it all.

The Octopus Ride LP ‘The garden waits for you’ is a jangly yet driven lo-fi 60's sound. It has the nostalgic feel of the early Velvet Underground, Stooges and Modern Lovers live recordings.

The process of recording the LP live to reel to reel in an open warehouse environment gives the whole album that nostalgic 1960’s lo-fi sound. Touching on elements of 70's psych, 80's punk, and 90's fuzz.
