A trio of rugged rhymers: Sean Price, the Brooklyn-bred lyricist that's quick to knock your block off Jailhouse Rock style; Diabolic, the aggressive Suffolk County rhyme sayer that spits with reckless abandon; and Vinnie Paz, the misanthropic Philly native who stays ready for battle, all make up the foundation for "Game Time," the latest release from Diabolic's forthcoming 'Fightin Words' LP, that's set to drop 9/16. Although Diabolic might not be a household name just yet, his accolades are worth mentioning: earning a spot on Billboard's Hip Hop and R&B charts, as well as receiving the HHUG Best Album of the Year Award with his debut 'LP, Liar & a Thief,' are quite the accomplishments. Over a slick cut from the Brooklyn beat-smith, 5th Seal, who manages to squeeze everybody from Das EFX to the late Guru in this Premier'esque scratch hook, "Game Time" takes things back to the time where lyrics were valued over everything. Apathy teams up with fellow bully-rap icons M.O.P. and his Demigodz brethren, Celph Titled to “STOMP RAPPERS” like Godzilla on the tough-as-nails new single off Ap’s sixth studio LP, 'The Widow’s Son,' due out next Friday, March 2nd!

While other tracks on the album may require a few repeated listens to unpack more layered wordplay, “Stomp Rappers” is refreshingly to the point. This is a no-nonsense banger driven by its chest-pounding beat produced by Apathy himself, with Chumzilla providing the high energy scratch chorus. 

Ap also sets the track off with a verse packed to the brim with vivid imagery and head-spinning internal rhymes—the perfect alley-oop to his like-minded cohorts. Celph scales skyscrapers and picks lesser emcees off the bottom of his boots, while M.O.P. “squeeze a tool at a rapper like Capri Sun” and “leave a mess where your nana tatted at.” In other words, they’re f*cking sh*t up, and we as listeners get to reap all the benefits.

Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Timbo King has been making noise for years,  with scene-stealing cameos on Wu classics like RZA's Bobby Digital In Stereo, GZA's Beneath The Surface, Wu-Tang Killa Bees' The Swarm, the Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture compilation, and more.  He's also held it down as a member of several collectives, including the Wu-Tang offshoot Royal Fam and the Hip-Hop supergroup Black Market Militia (Timbo, Killah Priest, Tragedy Khadafi, Hell Razah, and William Cooper).  He's also held it down on soundtracks to films like Soul In The Hole and Ghost Dog, and gained an international following by working with platinum-selling French rap collective I AM.  Despite this success, Timbo has patiently waited, never dropping an album of his own.  Now, Nature Sounds / Real Estate has finally released Timbo King's solo debut, the long-awaited From Babylon To Timbuk2.

For an MC whose first major breakthrough was a 1993 spot on the Who's The Man soundtrack, it's been a long journey.  Yet Timbo King had no problem biding his time.  "I didn't want to rush it," he explains.  "I took my time in crafting my debut to ensure that fans received the exact quality and body of work I knew they would come to expect from experiencing Timbo King as a featured artist over the years, and now taking the reigns as the ring leader."

The result is a cohesive, razor-sharp collection with plenty of lyrical jewels.  Based on a book by Ralph Windsor, From Babylon To Timbuk2 is more than a typical album.  "It's an audio novel," explains Timbo.  "It's the story of my life, all the ups and downs, and trying to make a way for myself.  At the same time, I'm doing the knowledge, teaching some things I've learned."  Production duties are handled by Bronze Nazareth (who produced nearly half the album), as well as Lil' Fame of M.O.P., Vinny Idol, and more.  A number of guests also stop by, including RZA, Killah Priest, R.A. The Rugged Man, Jr. Reid,Hell Razah, Akir, and William Cooper.  While the road was long, the result is a modern-day Wu classic.
