this pacifist papyrus fight song definitely has me interested on how things will go down on the genocide route!

This is a banging track that’s super fighting for a penultimate theme. We love Papyrus around here, I hope we can see his fresh polo in his battle sprite.

i assume the context behind the fight is kind of dependent on the actions you've taken? unless its outright a pacifist exclusive

okay i REALLY like this, both the track and the context. The fact that he's not going to kill Kris doesn't mean he won't pose one heck of a challenge and i love that. plus the limit of tries adds a whole new layer to it

In Papyrus' monologue he rattles on about the various "foes" Kris has bested in battle (non-violently, of course), before finally declaring to Kris that he's almost jealous he never got to take them on himself.

The battle itself would be pretty reasonably difficult, especially for a battle against Papyrus, but there's no malicious intent here. He's just trying to have fun and prove his worth a bit here. He'll never actually mortally damage Kris, instead stopping once their HP reaches a certain threshold (probably once Kris' HP reaches 3 or below), allowing Kris to freshen up and challenge him again.

Much like Sans, Papyrus primarily forces Kris' soul into Orange mode, though gets particularly tricky with it and occasionally fakes Kris out with Cyan mode instead.

If Kris fails this battle seven times, Papyrus accepts his triumph over Kris as definitive and allows them to move on.
