It's the holidays on Moonbase 23 and the circuitry pulsates with celestial sounds orchestrating a tune from centuries past....

God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen

The Parallelograms have finely honed their music into a kaleidoscopic wonder-sound, rich with warmth and melody.  Mainly employing analog synths and layered harmony vocals, they produce a lush and shimmering - but sometimes chaotic - blitz of bliss.  Their cosmic psychedelic pop sound is architecturally constructed to induce the maximum in audio sensation.

Though primarily electronic, no computers are used in the recording of the duo's music.  They balance the precision of drum machines and sequencers with hand-played and random elements.  Environmental, acoustic, and subliminal sounds are incorporated into the mix with an aim to evoke moods and invoke sonic spirits.

The Parallelograms independently released their debut album "Adult Contemporary" in 2006.  They recently issued the more ambitious "Stratospheric Dreams" on vinyl LP.  Concurrently, the band has undertaken the production of several Super-8 films to accompany songs from the album.  

For Nick Jr.'s YO GABBA GABBA, the pair recorded a minimalist cover of the Free Design's "Kites Are Fun."  They have also done several remixes for the show.

They have received airplay from KCRW, KXLU, Dublab, and college radio stations and webcasts worldwide.  They have performed at disparate locations across Los Angeles.

The Parallelograms are Stefanie King and Chris Curtis.  Besides music, they share an abiding obsession with Russ Meyer’s film Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.
