This new version of the legendary smash-hit « Soul Makossa 2.0 » has taken many by surprise. More surprises are now officially announced: 
For the first time since the 1990's Manu Dibango has recorded new material and is releasing an entire new album. 
On his upcoming project Manu Dibango has selected his favorite songs from the last 50 years of his productive carrier. Manu Dibango recorded the upcoming album together with Wayne Beckford who has interpreted the classics into new modern songs. 
A true classical album - bringing togheter the past and the present for the future. 
Even though Manu Dibango today is over 70 years old, he's still not ready to put down his saxophone... Remembering the past and continuing to create for the future. 
On the upcoming album PAST PRESENT FUTURE, the ends of an important musical era meet in modern remixes of old classics. The musical history that has influenced most musical genres of today is put in a new limelight of the future.

La nouvelle version du célèbre tube planétaire « Soul Makossa 2.0 » en a surpris plus d’un. Bien d’autres surprises sont maintenant officialisées.
Pour la première fois depuis les années 90 Manu Dibango vient d’enregistrer de nouveaux titres et s’apprête à publier un tout nouvel album studio.
Pour ce nouveau projet Wayne Beckford et Manu Dibango ont créé de nouvelles compositions en partant de quelque uns de ses titres des années 60-70, qui ont enrichit 50 ans d’une carrièretrès productive et couronnée de succés. Manu Dibango et Wayne Beckford ont souhaité lui donner la coloration très afro-soul de l'époque qui a vu émerger "Soul Makossa".
Les générations passent, mais Manu Dibango reste plus actuel que jamais. Un véritable classique conjuguant passé et présent pour créer le futur !
Ce nouvel album : PAST PRESENT FUTURE incarne la fusion d’une période musicale incontournable avec celle d’aujourd’hui. Une histoire de la musique qui a influencé la plupart des courants musicaux d’aujourd’hui et qui continue de l’écrire au futur.

Anyone familiar with the Pimps of Joytime live experience knows the feeling—it’s that moment when a deep bluesy groove morphs into a full-on EDM explosion, or the sensation when the wide-eyed audience collectively elevates in sync with the band’s irresistible energy.

On Jukestone Paradise, the Pimps of Joytime raise the bar with swagger to spare, crafting ten cohesive songs that ring out like the soundtrack for a ride through the diverse Brooklyn neighborhood where their sound materialized.  Pulling from lead guitarist and singer Brian J’s deep discography of influences, the creation of Jukestone Paradise began a decade ago, when he penned anthems like “Sky” and “Freedom Dancer,” all the way up to the album’s studio recording sessions.

You might accurately call the Pimps of Joytime a ‘post-genre’ band; they’re a group whose sound—even within a single song—mirrors the diversity of our era’s musical tastes. “It’s a sonic tapestry that’s representative of this time and place that we live in,” says Brian J. 

That’s where the Pimps excel, by mashing up ‘70s funk tones with modern dance beats, mixed with original samples creating their mosaic sound. For listeners weary of today’s DJ culture but eager to dance with abandon, the Pimps of Joytime are the antidote. 

“At our core, the Pimps of Joytime are not just dance music,” says Brian J of the band’s three-part harmony attack. “My first vocal mentor was a doo-wop singer, so I have a long-time love affair with vocal harmonies.”

With the release of Jukestone Paradise, the band makes official their solid touring lineup, featuring dual female vocalists and percussionists Mayteana Morales and Cole WilliamsX. And they’re hitting the road hard, continuing a constant touring schedule that’s already left prominent sets at festivals like Voodoo, Outside Lands, Bonnaroo and High Sierra in their wake.

Behind the frontlines are bassist/keyboardist David Bailis and drummer John Staten, forming the rhythmic backbone of the Pimps’ audible collage. And for Jukestone Paradise, they called in a few friends to lend their talents, including Ivan Neville, who lends New Orleans flavor to “Sky,” and Rubblebucket’s Alex Toth, who co-wrote the quirky and infectious “Dance Cardia.” 

Just as Brooklyn has changed since the Pimps started, so has the band’s sound. But as Williamsburg gentrifies, the Pimps of Joytime’s diverse evolution keeps the neighborhood’s spirit alive. That spirit goes into the Pimps’ pot, over a soulful roux of rhythm and groove.
