In 2026 we will be back on air. Broadcasting from the last surviving radio shack in the wasteland. 

Welcome to WPUNX, a forthcoming concept album about a rogue station still pumping out joy while the world burns. Every track is a different broadcast; every signal a clash of genres that shouldn’t work but somehow does.

“Jack This Town” is the first teaser transmission, here exclusively on Soundcloud (with free DL). At its core it’s a cheesy disco record, big, shiny and grinning, but as always we can’t leave well enough alone. It keeps falling apart and re-assembling itself: live drums, horns, radio stingers, wrong-foot drops, and solos that shouldn’t exist in a dance track but absolutely do. Imagine a block-party tape being chewed by the machine and you’re still dancing anyway.

The Young Punx are back in full mischief mode: funk, house, and satire rolled into one fat groove. This isn’t a single, it’s a flare in the sky to say the new album is coming.

Ali Jamieson returns to Heavy Disco with London based soul singer Raff for this 2017 flip on the quiet storm classic The Sweetest Taboo originally recorded by Sade in 1985.

The EP is complete with an instrumental and pastiche Varorwave edit, because everything sound great slowed down. Ali is one third of Heavy Disco Records and have enlisted the assistance of some fantastic musicians for this cover, including label partner Hal Ritson, former bandmates David O’Neill and Oliver Jarvis, Brazil’s own Jadhiel Asaph and singer Raff, with whom he has collaborated many times.

The Prozac Marios is a forthcoming project from Hal Ritson (The Young Punx), the producer behind over 25 billion streams and credits with artists like Duke Dumont, Katy Perry, and The Chemical Brothers. Their sound blends New Romantic atmosphere, neon-lit synthwave, pixel-hued chiptune, and slowed+reverb melancholy into songs steeped in longing and memory, all delivered with a bold, vintage tape aesthetic that makes every track feel like it is playing from a half-worn mixtape cassette as the batteries run out.

The project builds on Hal’s work co-producing some of the most iconic 80s-influenced records of recent decades, from Duke Dumont’s Ocean Drive and Supermode’s Tell Me Why to Eric Prydz’s Call On Me, Kavinsky’s Nightcall era, and Casisdead’s Famous Last Words. With The Prozac Marios, Hal channels that legacy into something both cinematic and immediate: music that sounds instantly familiar yet unavoidably new.
