The Push formed in late 2009, when long-time singer/songwriter types Nico Canton and Steve Pena decided to work together in hopes of creating something different together, than they’ve ever done individually.  Nico’s co-worker at the time, Kari Gillette, joined on drums shortly thereafter, and the Push was born.  Looking for an additional layer of guitar, Nico’s long-time neighbor Mackenzie Yessian completed the band.
To date, the Push have recorded three EPs.  Each EP has garnered high praise for their colorful guitars, catchy hooks, shiny vocals, and warm harmonies.  The latest release in 2015, the Siblings EP, has received the best reviews yet.  The songs have been called moving, emotive, fresh, and memorable.  
The featured song on the Siblings EP, “Cosmosis,” is sure to pull you in and take you somewhere you long to be.  The mystery of “Passerby” will leave you curious and wanting more.  “Zephyr” is sure to rock your soul, but at the same time may haunt you. 
The Push have played all throughout Southern California, with their biggest presence in Orange and L.A. county.  The Push have had the House of Blues in Downtown Disney at near capacity and have filled-up popular venues, such as the Observatory in Santa Ana and the Slidebar in Downtown Fullerton. 
The Push acknowledge that for them, it is really all about the live show. The chemistry of the band is simple to see and the energy and color from their recordings translate well on to the stage.  Be sure to catch the Push live this summer, but be sure to listen to the music beforehand, as you will surely want to sing along.
