Well as you can see, my second remix of a pop song isn't a Britney tune, after all! This is actually my 7th Indaba remix (well, 8th in fact but the previous one is still unfinished). THE GREENS - Something in the Water (Poisoned Well Mix)

This was my very first remix for Indaba and the reason why I signed up in the first place: I was actually looking for a multitrack version of PG's "Signal to noise" to remix it when I accidentally stumbled upon this site. Anyway, about the track: this is a remix in the original acceptance of the word, meaning I stayed true to the song while altering it in a more subtle way than the usual boring techno/dance remix. The song structure is basically the same, but I made it darker and more aggressive, with extra distortions pretty much everywhere. I also enhanced the war theme by adding drums that sound like machine guns, along with a military snare which fits perfectly with the rhythmic patterns in the final part. Enjoy and give me some feedback, either good or bad, I'm open to constructive criticism.

PETER GABRIEL - Games Without Frontiers (@Omik War Fair)

This is my 2nd remix for Indaba. Once again, it remains close to the original. The song structure is pretty much the same and most of the sounds used were processed from the original. My goal for this song was to make it sound softer while using harsher sounds: I love injecting such contradictions in my works! So, you'll hear a fair amount of distortion. I turned the piano, almost inaudible in the original version, into a major instrument in the verses, keeping the guitar only in the chorus and the instrumental parts. I also amped up the backing vocals a bit, so now you can actually hear them... Enjoy!

XZIBIT - Hurt Locker (Ritual Killing Mix)

This track from the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack is the third installment in my Indaba remix series. Unfortunately, it required A LOT of work and I couldn't make it in time for the contest. This is an electronic tune bordering on industrial music and I'm really happy with what I achieved. Due to its instrumental nature, I took a further departure from the original version than with my vocal remixes. My first idea was to divide the tempo by 2, switching from 220 to 110 BPM, then my creativity kept flowing. It's quite similar to some of my personal works, meaning that I gradually added layers of sounds, culminating in a climactic finale. Apart from the bass and a few extra cymbals, all sounds are processed from the original track, still it sounds really different. I hope you enjoy the result, and please don't hesitate to give me feedback. Oh, one more thing: PLAY IT LOUD!

NIGEL GODRICH - Fight! (The Pilgrimage)

My 4th remix for Indaba is not for the faint-hearted! I turned a beautiful ballad into a much darker, ominous tune. I stripped it down to its rhythmic core, discarding almost all the melodic elements. I added various distortions, metallic percussions and some piano. I also did a few extra backing vocals. Among all of my remixes to date, this is one of my favorites. I especially like how I played with the different textures of distortion. I hope you enjoy the result! PHILIP SELWAY - Beyond Reason (Unreasoned Mix)

5th remix in my Indaba series, very Reznoresque. Usually, I'm not exactly a fan of Daft Punk, but the Tron Legacy soundtrack is the brilliant exception to the rule (it's actually by far the best part of the movie). So when I saw that Indaba offered to remix not one, but three tracks from this OST, I couldn't do otherwise than entering this contest! The main characteristic of this remix is that I slowed down the tempo to 80 BPM, making it sound more organic than the original. I kept the beat and the synth melody, everything else was built from scratch. The track is split in two parts: the first half is rather mellow, with an additional synth melody. The rest builds up in a more industrial fashion. Play it loud and feel free to drop a comment.

DAFT PUNK - Re:rezzed

Here is my second Daft Punk remix and the 6th in my Indaba series, an epic extravaganza clocking in at 10'21"! It's kinda what Mogwai could do if they were making electronic music. Not that I did a Mogwai-like track on purpose, it's just what came to mind when I listened to the finished work. You can also notice a dDamage influence in the intertwining synth melodies after the drums kick in. This track hasn't much in common with the original. I slowed down the entire brass stem by 4 and used it as a sustained note throughout the whole remix. I also used the two synths played backwards and a short slowed down snippet of the rhythm. Everything else was built from scratch. This is my favorite remix to date (ex-aequo with Phil Selway's Beyond Reason) and I'm very proud of the result. This Daft Punk contest has been a real musical marathon for me: in about 3 weeks' time, I managed to deliver almost a quarter hour of some of my finest work as a remixer - and it shows in my rankings. Not bad, huh? Now gimme some feedback and remember: play it loud!

DAFT PUNK - End of Line (C.O.B.O.L. Wars)

This is an instrumental version of the opening track on my next album, "Red (Rehashing The Apocalypse)". It will be a sci-fi concept album about the end of the world, hence the title of this track. Yeah, fun stuff! It is quite short for an ambient tune, but it's supposed to be an intro to the album, so it can't be very long. The album version will feature samples of speeches by people like Hitler or Bin Ladin. It's a dark ambient track with a wide dynamic range, starting very quietly and ending in a big explosion, so I suggest you listen to it quite loud. Have a nice trip and don't hesitate to leave comments, feedback is always appreciated.

The Beginning of the End (Mental Instruversion)

A remix of Mike Oldfield's masterpiece that I made for indabamusic.com back in 2012, I believe. Sounds a bit like if King Crimson made electronic music. One of my best works to date, and an achievement I am very proud of. Enjoy!

MIKE OLDFIELD - Tubular Bells (Bell de Nuit Gutter Headbutter)

This is my first remix for FiXT Remix. I entered this contest very late and had only one week to submit my remix, so it's somewhat rough on the edges and could have been refined a bit, but I did my best with the little time I had. I didn't have the chance to check it on monitors and in retrospect, I think it's a little bass heavy but otherwise, I wouldn't change much. Play it loud and drop your comments!

NIVEAU ZERO feat. THE UNIK - First (Last Mix)

I'm a french electronic musician, heavily influenced by industrial rock and dark ambient. I began my musical life as a thrash metal rhythm guitarist, but switched to electronica as a solo artist for several reasons: I got fed up with the routine of rehearsals, felt too limited soundwise within the frame of a metal band and wanted to delve more into composition. I'm currently working on several projects, the most advanced being an EP featuring the voice of New York poet Nicole Blackman narrating some of her works.
