Smallville 60 - Rhythm Of Paradise - In My Face

Alex Albrecht returns with Aurora - a pristine followup to his Blue Caves transmission via Scissor and Thread in 2018. 

The Melbourne based composer and sound designer Albrecht has leans into his predilection for woozy, affecting melodies intertwined with skittering drums and snaking grooves, and Aurora brings that to the fore with six tracks of shimmering beauty. 

Spring Orchard opens the record, effortlessly merging deeply buried keys with washes of dreamlike synths, and dubby effects. 
Wildflower Walk is a melancholic affair, underpinned with a restless groove. 
The title track Aurora treads a similar path, but with a more driving approach, while an interplay between piano, guitar, and synths drenched in reverb offer a warm, enveloping atmosphere. 


Aurora is also shared here as a remix by Roza Terenzi, who entirely reworks the track with her signature club ready grooves . 

Kennett River exhibits a kind of smudged, cinematic hip hop feel, while closing track Morning Piazza showcases Albrecht’s sense of drama and pacing, producing a sublime ending to this deeply affecting collection.

This month marks the release of a new album from Austrian producer B.Visible.

The self released album is called 'Life Is My Hobby' and features ten tracks which draw influence from the 90's golden era of Trip Hop, RnB and the Balearic leanings associated with chill-out Ibiza.

The record is a perfect soundtrack to autumnal evenings, laced with elegant vocals and melodies. An accomplished album by a producer who clearly hosts an interesting array of influences.

This mix starts showcasing his interest in the Balearic fringes of electronic music, before descending into classic House and Breaks.

B.Visible: The 'Wednesday Alternative' Mix

I'm sharing this 100% vinyl mix on this sunny-but-strange morning. I felt a signal beaming down from somewhere beyond – maybe Mars, maybe just my record shelves. So, I fired up the turntables and embarked on this interstellar mission, guided by passion, curiosity, and a mood steeped in deep house, dub techno, and deep minimal vibes. This is for the explorers, the groove-seekers, and anyone who’s ever wondered what aliens might dance to. Hope it abducts your heart and teleports your soul!
