The clouds rolled on softly by. One by one they came and went across the deep blue sky, passing by in a forward motion only to disappear some place beyond the horizon and out of sight. It was one of those lazy, dreamy afternoons in the city when time seemed to stand still and nobody had any place particular to be.

The sound of traffic was only rivalled by the noises of the birds. On days like this it was enough to forget that there might ever be a problem again, days like this were made for dreaming.

Grant is set to release his first new music since 2019. The acclaimed producer has been out of action for a few years but is now back with an EP on When The Morning Comes with the same classy, sophisticated House music that he is best known for and loved.

This compilation was released in 2013 and was a special giveaway of the IfZ crowdfunding campaign "Another Sound Is Possible".

Darone Sassounian is the founder of a record label called Rocky Hill – it has become an outlet for his own music which is rooted in the foundations of Funk, Soul and Jazz. His ethos is based in trying to recreate the emotions and sounds of experiences during these times through new mechanisms – playing with the notion of House music and Broken Beat whilst staying true to the origins of the sound.

Based in Los Angeles he is a keen digger and in 2021, Darone released the celebrated compilation, “Silk Road: Journey of the Armenian Diaspora: 1971 – 1982” on Terrestrial Funk.

His own music is versatile and expressive – not overly tuned but meticulously crafted at the same time.

This mixtape acts similarly – featuring a collection of dancefloor focussed material which is driven and direct yet retains the raw, DIY aesthetic of those early moments in Funk.

Last month, our old friend Daneil Herrmann aka Flug 8 made a triumphant return to Ransom Note Records with his new album, Bermuda LP, his first release with us since 2020’s Electric Fields. Comprising nine ethereal tracks evoking the serene beauty of space, each piece sparkled like distant stars and cosmic ambiance. “A weightless experience akin to witnessing a celestial phenomenon,” propeling listeners beyond the asteroid belt, emerging through cosmic gas clouds.
