Continuing our appreciation of the fertile music scenes throughout Central Eastern Europe, for this week's Wednesday Alternative mix we welcome The Netherlands-via-Poland DJ dogheadsurigeri. 

A lover of snacks (particularly the fried kind), when she's not digging for french fries and Ben and Jerry's, you can find her hunting down off kilter rhythms and high-powered club tracks, consistently championing the unconventional and the surprising.

This channels into her work as co-founder of the MESTIÇO crew, who have been working to redefine music and club culture over the last four years, while she also helps challenge the narrative as part of the Oramics collective - alongside DJs like Monster, Avtomat and ISNT - who help support women, non-binary and LGBTQ+ communities and encourage participation within music.

We hand over the controls to her and, in true Scorpio style, she produces a impulsive, dynamic no-holds-barred mix of furious techno, hi-NRG breaks and deconstructed club rhythms... Don't forget your seatbelt!

Metaphore Collective’s crew pillar, Meta Zone-Libre’s programmer and resident, Marseille’s alternative scene true activist, it is in this city that he spent his childhood immersed in the grunge and techno 90 ‘s CDs of his mother. Later, losing himself in the sweaty concert halls of downtown Marseille, he experiences his first personal musical emotions: punk, metal, krautrock, industrial music and extreme. He began to learn drums, before studying concrete music at the Conservatoire de Marseille.

Today, it is all this baggage he carries around in each of his DJ sets with the need to propose a surprising crossing between eras and genres. Lovers of breakbeat, he likes to mix his influences with those of sci-fi culture of electro for a rave no-limit and universal.

ISHAM KOUIDRI “ALL I SEE IS BLUE” (ENXPL03)

Paris based artist Isham Kouidri presents his debut release “All I See Is Blue” for the Enmossed and Psychic Liberation collaboration series. On “All I See Is Blue”, the artist extrapolates a sonic environment from a single piano loop. As the recording progresses through it’s respective acts, A side “Through The Window” and B side “Now He’s Gone”, tension and the sublime interplay compositionally. Isham Kouidri uses his time on “All I See Is Blue” to allow for his process to subvert the reverie he has created, but the light is always right around the bend.
