You might have noticed that we're rather big fans of Mr Timothy Clerkin round at Ransom Note towers. As has been evidenced on his mighty fine mixes for us as both one half of the Eskimo Twins and solo as Heretic. 

 "44 Squadron" is the new EP from Timothy for Robi Headman's Relish label including a Remix by Monoblok & PSLKTR! and we're premiering the whole EP including a full stream of the excellent title track.

The 3 originals are slightly rougher and noisier than previous Eskimo Twins releases but with that signature chug.

Heretic began life as a frivolous means of making some raucous club tracks, with themes about science and the refutation of all things religious running through them; hence the name. This quickly evolved into a fully-fledged side project as the pile of tracks kept getting higher and higher.

The remix comes from french duo Monoblok & PSLKTR. Two activists of the electronic scene from the north of France. They released 3 EPs on Meant Records.

The leitmotiv of the two artists is:
”The underground is what the politically correct devastates. Being able to make a step aside, daring to make what the times do not take in count.”

Divergente, with more space fulness and ethereal vibes, it develops in a relaxed flight, like gliding over a landscape examining with eagle eyes the geography of an unknown territory. The resonance of drops and bells take us between melodies that modulate gently, to dance smoothly enjoying the slow movements.

I’m a Cliché is proud to present Red Axes’ second release on the label, a few months after their ‘Tour de Chile’ EP. ‘1970’ EP is composed of three new original tracks by the exciting duo from Tel Aviv. These three rays of light in the batcave confirm what stroke label’s head Cosmo Vitelli most in the first place: their talent in smartly winking at dance music history while integrating all the codes of modern production.

1. “1970”, the title track, is a dance ballade with an obvious touch of Balearic. Mixing images of soap-ad kids and fighter planes in the video made to it is like mixing lightness and darkness in their music: very natural after all.

2. “Walk Alone” provides further evidence of this combination: the brisk piece of techno seems a hopping walk through sunny lands at the edge of a ravine.

3. “Joseph Cookies” samples a masterpiece from New German Wave band Malaria and, while keeping the punk flavour, turns it into a slow anthem for captivated dancers.

Additional background about Red Axes:

Red Axes is a project created by Tel-Aviv based producers and DJs Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi. 
The duo has been performing together for over 6 years, first as members of the new wave / post punk band Red Cotton. After living in Amsterdam and traveling in Europe, the guys returned to Tel-Aviv and began an underground psychedelic electronic party series called "Break It!". 
In 2009, they established a new vision and concept for all of their artistic endeavors - focusing on house, disco and techno. Several Red Axes EPs came out  between 2009 and 2011, on Statra Recordings and Klasse Recordings. 
2012 started with “Tour de Chile” EP on I’m a Cliché and continues with an other EP on the same label, “1970”, in addition to remixes and original tracks for La Belle or Clouded Vision. Their work in editing masterpieces and live-performing helped them push their boundaries both as DJs and as producers. 
In the Tel Aviv night scene they were booked to play alongside Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Pilooski, just to name a few... Playing in Tokyo in summer 2012 was a step further towards transcontinental recognition.
