Bogdan Ra is based in the musical hotbed of Lisbon and his excellent 'What Is A DJ?' EP takes its inspiration from the late 80s acid house and Italo, displaying a real mix of vintage charm and contemporary relevance that will strike all the right notes on the dancefloor. From the snappy title cut to the electro rhythms of 'Arroios' via the funky disco rhythms of 'Tonic Glue' and feel good factor of closer 'That's All', this is quality production that will more than stand the test of time.

Cactus Theory is an EP that tells four different stories. The opening track Summer Of Lava is a bold take on the RnB influenced house sound that makes the perfect end of the night track. It's hands down a summer anthem. Up next we got Interpretations, a track with that sounds like it's taken from the album Pansoul by Motorbass. Maquis got all the ingredients we've come to love in a Moonee track. It's dreamy, almost floating with beautiful strings and a great uptempo beat.

Bed of Roses returns with a new release from dear friend Not Branimir.

Not Branimir is the new project from Byrd Out label boss Stephen Vitkovitch. The ‘Asquith Window’ EP is the culmination of work over a series of snatched moments between childcare, a part-time job, and running the label - ‘windows’ if you like. Underpinned by Roland's legendary 808 Drum Machine, the overlaying 303, Kaossilator, and more, the tracks celebrate the possibility of creation using freely available tools. Stephen called in a favour with Byrd Out artist, Greek electronic wizard Anatolian Weapons, to remix the title track, and his ‘Acid Take’, replete with added chanting, is a proper chug daddy!

This time out he blends electro with bass, acid and techno and opens up with the squelchy 303s and prickly beats of 'Mutated Brain Process' before 'Electric Mutant' layers up whirring machines and jerking drum patterns. 'Non-Euclidean Coordinates' is a high-speed and physical workout with low end menace and the superb closer 'Depressed Mutant' might just be the best of the lot with its withering sci-fi motifs and alien sounds, kinetic electro beats and otherwordly vibes.

Their small boat weaved and floated atop chaotic waves and tides, between jagged rocks and pointed shores.

Yet, they were nimble and agile, like a lizard in the stream.

A collective based out of Lisbon & London who have delivered for us the Shell Beach EP, a collection of four sunny cuts rich in colour and melody and packed with dance-floor power perfect for the rise in temperatures. JELLYFISH is Stephanie Tsong and Ricky Mawzlin, a DJ duo/collective from Pittsburgh (USA). Self-professed music nerds their whole lives, they welcome dancers to a sweaty dance floor blanketed in neon + fog with sets that morph between italo, house, melodic techno, electro, and beyond. Jellyfish throws queer parties around Pittsburgh, the US east coast, and abroad.

It's a bit of a wonky 'Go Doof Doof' this time around, featuring a B2B mix from the UK's Gerry Read and Canada's Kevin McPhee. From one side of the court we have Gerry's distinct sideways house, which pulses into Kevin's rhythmic sonic dubs. The pair have worked together in the past with the release of 'Demolition Man' in 2011 amongst other projects.
