Amsterdam-based DJ Hary Shanthi describes himself as a metaphysial educator; his music is a personal story based on his own experiences.

As well as being part of the Sinchi Collective crew - a blog, label and mix series who represent some of the most exciting underground artists - when Hary isn't completely immersed in music, he works as a climate researcher and scientist in the fields of climate mitigation, zero carbon technologies and energy transition.

We invited him to take control of this week's Wednesday Alternative mix and boy did he deliver! Based around the idea of "if “Nietzsche” was a DJ" channelling his musical four part text “Thus spoke Zarathustra“, Hary uses only tracks composed in minor: the first part harmonic, the second with the use of scales under the Dorian mode, the third using Phrygian mode and the final part utilising the natural/aeolian mode.

Benjamin Fröhlich has struck many chords in the arena of electronic music over the past years: as a DJ, label owner and producer.
He is the co-founder of Permanent Vacation - one of the strongest running labels that has delivered genre-defining hits over the past decade. As such Benjamin Fröhlich has worked together with the household names of the international electronic dance scene. Artists on Permanent Vacation's roster include John Talabot, Todd Terje, Mano Le Tough, Tuff City Kids, Red Axes, Lauer, Koze, Pional and many more.
On top of his dedication to explore and feature rising as well as accomplished artists, Benjamin Fröhlich himself has emerged as a producer of vibrant tracks that are testament to his versatile and compelling approach to club music. His 12 inches, which were well received by DJs and clubbers alike, are accompanied by acclaimed remixes including his Tuff City Kids rework, which made it on Roman Flügel’s Fabric Mix.
Starting out as a record shop owner in his hometown Munich (prior to his PV label work), Benjamin Fröhlich has developed an uplifting style in his DJ sets, which fuses House, Disco and Cosmic into hypnotic and enthusiastic nights. Through his in-depth background, Benjamin Fröhlich passionately combines the unforgettable past and the gripping present with the hits of tomorrow.

We’re delighted to welcome @AkkanLife as the latest instalment to the Sinchi & Friends series. The Spanish duo consisting of @BeGun and Ocellot  (@discoslagabia) are a production partnership who came together after a magic mushroom psychotropic journey in the Kalahari Desert, which is clearly reflected in their sounds that build upon idiosyncratic / trippy melodies and ethnic rhythms. Sinchi Collective crew member “Hary Shanthi” is a  deeply earnest sound designer and a lifelong student who experiments with technology believing in the "Art of Equalization" and "Management of Varied Frequencies" paired with intense attention to the "Art of Crate Digging". He sees DJ’ing as an “Art of Philosophizing”, the objective nature of truth in music and its alleged communication of its meaning to the human consciousness. This investigation is manifested through his personal interpretation of sonically rich enigmatic tracks which lead the dance floor through journeys not spoken but still told.
