Arne Bunjes : The Mix I made draws its inspiration from the moment I began to go out at night regularly, when I moved to Düsseldorf to Study Social Work at the Fachhochschule Düsseldorf.

In my hometown my musical Influences were US Punk/Hardcore, Hip Hop and whatever pop music was hot on local Radio or MTV. After randomly ending up at the Salon des Amateurs (in the early noughties) where the music was completely different I started to dig deeper: going out at night then trying to find what I was hearing in flea-markets and record stores. 

SDA became the main Influence in my musical life as well as being a huge Influence in starting the record label.

The Mix tries to showcase the musical spectrum at the Salon in these early days, from my perspective: the 2007-2011 era! This is different to the sound that came later and for which most people identify what Detlef Weinrich aka Tolouse Low Trax was playing. But of course other regulars like Vladimir Ivkovic or Tako where also a huge inspiration.

These are the tracks that I heard there, liked the most and wanted to include in my collection. I came back to them with joy each time and started to play them myself. Although most of them are not super obscure I don't hear them getting played out anymore. They are mostly real tracks, not specifically made for the dancefloor.

Alexis Le-Tan is one of the most consistent record collectors come DJ slash compiler and editor supreme of the Parisian underground.
Solo, he has delivered much sought after oddball versions under the guises of ALT or Alexis Le-Fan (Bahnsteig 23, Crowdspacer, Les Edits du Golem, Future Times, Black Disco, etc.) and is the purveyor of envelope pushing mixes for the likes of lovefingers.org, Noise In My Head, Test Pressing amongst many others …. A father of two Alexis' appetite for music is insatiable and he still playlists 30 new releases every months on Juno.co.uk.
Master of the bent, incanter of the psyched-out, purveyor of the leftfield as, anyone who knows him will tell you, there is something slightly off with Alexis. A readiness to unsettle, solidly camped behind tainted glasses and a belligerent smile the kind only the violently caustic can muster.
Such saltiness, however, did not prevent him from undertaking influential music collaborations, first as a co-selector of obscure cosmic and library music, Space Oddities which he picked in conjunction with Jess, of Jess & Crabbe fame. But also as concept band, Full Circle besides Crowdspacer founder Joakim. Alexis is also praised for his exciting back to back Dj sets among which his collabs with french disco apostle Vidal Benjamin, Vladimir Ivkovic or Misha Hollenbach and 2ManyDJ’s are amongst the most resounding.

From the halcyon days of Goa parties and the UK’s rave scene to the noughties’ specific blend of electro, disco and techno, it took twenty formative years for Alexis to fully establish his ever so distinctive signature sound: a mixture of all things slow and mental always with a touch of trance in a very cosmic ascension to uncompromising originality.
It sounds more complicated than it is and his monthly radio show on LYL (http://lyl.live/show/the-other-side/) will give you a good grasp of the cottonous splendor Alexis’ style has come to.

Bristol-based DJ and producer Jamie Paton has been at it for almost 15 years. Starting out as one half of Cage & Aviary - a duo alongside pal George Hoyle who charted releases for DFA, Internasjonal and Dissident - Jamie went on to carve out his own path; one lined with heady, tripped out sounds to move the mind and the body.

Since going solo his music has does the rounds on some of our favourite labels, we're talking Höga Nord, Emotional Especial and the dearly departed Bahnsteig 23.

There's plenty more in the works too. In between his other job as a graphic designer, Jamie's been in the studio cooking up more potent electronics, some of which will soon see the light of day on ESP Institute and Multi Culti, along with another fresh project in collaboration with R$N extended family member, Chez De Milo.

Ahead of all that good stuff in the pipeline, we asked Jamie to supply a mix for us, a task he graciously accepted. Across two hours he takes us down a wormhole of hypnotic electronics, leftfield synth excursions and trippy rhythms. Let yourself get lost....

Paulius Austrevičius aka CLICKLOUNGE is best known for his involvement in the reputable Opium Club in VIlnius, Lithuania, where he is regularly found both behind the decks and in the background working as a booking assistant & helping to curate club's program, bringing some of the most exciting and interesting DJs and artists over to play in the space. It's here that he also holds a residency and runs his own club night called Juoduomenė, alongside his trusted fellows.

His carefully researched selections go in tandem with unique cuts, oddities & always mussing amongst various musical compositions & it’s subjections. A gourmet combination of versatile & thermal music.
