We know we're always hyping on about Atlanta's underground electronic music scene, and you know why? Because it's very very good. 

While DJs and producers like Ash Lauryn, Stefan Ringer and Kai Alce are among those leading the charge, there's a host of other artists, creatives, parties and labels bubbling up across the city, more of which you can read about in our spotlight piece.

Thanks to a tip from Zaida, who did a banging mix for us at the beginning of the year, we were introduced to the sounds of KNZ. A visual artist and DJ, her musical discoveries are driven by her love of deep house and techno; she's always searching for 'house beats that resonate'.

Listening to her mixes, there's a fluidity to her style that's enchanting; a quality that extends to her "space mango berry mix" for us. KNZ might be just beginning her journey, but we see nothing but a bright future ahead of her...

NYC label Palto Flats focuses on a carefully selected program of reissues and new material, bringing attention to the intersection of pop, electronic, experimental and world music. The label’s intent is to work with artists on music that is both accessible and idiomatic, bringing these constructive contrasts to light. This show is an exploration of those forms, and will periodically feature guest selectors from diverse musical backgrounds.

It's been less than a year since audiovisual artist Surgeons Girl made her debut via Bristol's Livity Sound, but the impact of that release is still ringing loudly in our ears. 

Inspired by synth pioneers and experimental composers like Suzanne Ciani, Laurel Halo and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, from her home in the South Western city she's been composing ethereal and emotive compositions that sit somewhere between ambient and techno. Since her first Livity Sound outing, she's contributed to their 10 year anniversary compilation, as well as releasing her sophomore EP 'The Empress Moss' for London's Inside Out Records just last month.

Now, with clubland back in full swing, Surgeons Girl has just made the leap from the studio to the booth, with her first DJ gig kicking off a string of sets across the UK. Before you catch her IRL, on today's mix she gives you a glimpse into the sonics that inspire her as both a DJ and producer.
