@shinichiro-yokota’s mix is about summer, specifically the days by the sea on a beach, and the summer in which you plan to do a host of things but are glad to complete at least 10% of it. It’s about the summer that’s going to end one day, leaving а foretaste for the next one, and about the time you live not by days and months, but by evenings that swimmingly become mornings while all you do is wait for the birds to wake up. It reminds of the summer you look back on in September, sometimes in October too, like an aftertaste, and the summer that is half over, but the best moments are yet to come.

This week’s International Tribe mix comes from Catching Flies. 

Catching Flies’ music draws from a wide-ranging palette of influences including jazz, soul, hip-hop, house and electronica and has previously seen him handpicked by Bonobo to provide support on his World Tour. Over the past few years, his music has gathered the support of Gilles Peterson, Annie Mac, Lauren Laverne, Julie Adenuga & Huw Stephens, critical acclaim from the likes of iD Magazine, The Guardian, Dazed & Confused, and Nowness.

Next up, a familiar face to some and a fresh introduction for those uninitiated. 

Lorca has been a presence amidst underground house and electronic music in the UK for quite some time now having released music on the likes of Church, Naked Naked, 2020 and more over a number of years. He has drawn upon a deep rooted love of house music which has been a staple element of his own sound which has been widely championed and supported by a broad spectrum of djs. 

Despite having amassed a reputation as a talented producer he hasn't perhaps received the level of acclaim which he should be entitled to. In the past few years he has reignited his musical presence through the rebirth of Live Ones, a record label which is now moving from strength to strength having recently released music by Dj Windows XP and Sune. 

As a Dj he is eclectic and forward thinking. His ability to read a room is impressive and this is best shown at the party which he runs alongside Kieran A at Tola in Peckham. The next edition will take place this Saturday. We invited him to showcase his sound in a carefully crafted mix.

Gustavo Keno é historiador de formação,  bagagem cultural que inevitavelmente o levou a ter uma pegada crítica na desenvoltura de seus sets. 

Para o seu mix da Alter, o cara dispõe uma imersão de posicionamentos questionadores através de batidas inconformadas e cheias de ritmos.

Sua trilha musical transita bem entre as décadas de 80 e 90, percorrendo composições vivas em temas sociais e religiosos do universo afro-brasileiro e da Diáspora Africana.

Gustavo também tem um no canal de Youtube, onde compartilha todas as suas (re)descobertas musicais  intitulado "Juntos Com Certeza".

Aside from being a DJ, Gustavo Keno, originally from São Paulo and based in Rio de Janeiro is graduated in History which led him to a critic awareness that is translated straight into his music. 
His music moves between the 80s and the 90s, wandering from bright and alive compositions founded in social and religious themes from the Afro-Brazilian and African Diaspora ethos. 
For this podcast, Keno demonstrates an immersion of a questioning positioning throughout his defiant lyrics and bold beats. 
Gustavo also manages a Youtube channel where the digger shares his musical (re)disclosures called “Juntos com Certeza”.
