LUXE is a DJ and producer who's firmly on the rise. Real name Lucy Hopson, she cut her teeth in Manchester as part of the B.L.O.O.M crew, later making the move to London where her skills both behind the decks and in the studio have quickly piqued the interests of promoters and DJs alike. 

There's a correlation between both ventures; her DJ sets are full of hefty bass, crisp breaks and driving trance sounds, while her productions so far have followed much of the same influences. With a few self-releases and compilation tracks under her belt, she recently made her solo debut for HAAi's Radical New Theory imprint, and Belonging is just as you'd imagine: hypnotic, chugging trance and breakbeat dripping with tittering percussion and warm sub bass.

There's plenty more to come for Lucy this year and beyond but first, she takes us through the gears on today's mix, launching at 100bpm and transporting us all the way up to 160...

Straight back in after their Europe tour, where DJ Sarah and Georgia Bird aka IN2STELLAR jammed with the likes of Guy Contact, Solar Suite, DJ Life, DAWS, Space Cadets and plenty of others, they are back to vibe some more on this freaky 216th episode of the series. The two found each other in the Melbourne scene at clubs like Boney, Gasometer, Lounge, Revolver and xe54 where they could showcase all their talents influenced by 90’s rave and jungle, futuristic electro sounds and breakbeat (which was excellently displayed in their latest release on Pure Space’s PROXIMITY II called Voyage). Their monthly-ish party initiative Neurotiq Erotiq gives them and their like-minded community a platform for this sound.  

While familiar faces on large-scale festival line-ups like Pitch Music and Arts Festival and Splendour In the Grass, it was their residency at the infamous (but sadly closed) Lounge club’s night ‘Lucid' where they really cut their teeth. Now they are regular faces on The Australian club circuit and can be normally found near the bar or on the dance floor. Speaking of which; Be sure to tune into their set at Strawberry fields when you are in the Melbourne surroundings this time next month.
