En esta nueva entrega de la serie Fun Fun Mix presentamos al dj mexicano Kodemul, abreviación de Korben Dallas Multipass, personaje de ficción de la película "El quinto elemento". Como proyecto musical se desarrolla desde el 2010 y su eje es el Techno, House y Disco, utilizando tres decks para usar bases, y apoyarse de dj tools que conecten entre tracks.  Es co fundador de Por Detroit, fiesta/rave itinerante en CDMX y Los Ángeles que también es referente en el fomento a la diversidad y en el desarrollo y difusión artística. Kodemul ha sido parte de festivales y fiestas como Burning Man, Honcho Campout, Folsom Fair, Makeout Party Chicago, Backdoor, Bears in Space, Recreo Festival, por mencionar algunos.

For the 22nd entry in the Fun Fun Mix series, we present mexican dj Kodemul, short for Korben Dallas Multipass, a fictional character from the movie "The Fifth Element." As a musical project, he has been in the scene since 2010 and his style is Techno, House and Disco, using three decks to use beats, and relying on dj tools that connect between tracks. He is co-founder of Por Detroit, an itinerant party / rave in CDMX and Los Angeles that is also a benchmark in promoting diversity and in the development and dissemination of art. Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Marcela Dias Sindaco is formerly a classical piano and cello player. With early musical influences drawing from experimental German groups like Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream, and Cluster, her electro productions encapsulate more than one sound palette. In 2021, she released her first EP on DEEPTRAX, and here we have her second gift of huge, thoughtful, vocalized electro ready to be received by heady listeners across the world.

Each track brings together unique pieces that fit into her cohesive vision of electro. There are big bass drums, panned hi-hats, and crunchy bass lines. Stabby pads, punchy piano licks, tantalizing but direct Portuguese vocals, loopy Rhodes progressions, and a touch of acid...bonafide DJ rewind material right here!

PREMIERE: Marcela Dias Sindaco - Á Flor Da Pele [Fixed Rhythms]

Photonz is a leading figure in the underground music scene in his home of Lisbon. Alongside fellow DJ, partner and collaborator Violet, he's helped put the city on the map through an array of parties, collectives and initiatives, whilst also creating and facilitating spaces for artists in Lisbon to thrive.

It's with Violet that he launched Rádio Quântica, following years of experience in national and local radio, as a grassroots platform to support the local scene and give a voice to artists and activists from across Portugal.

mina is another of his inclusive and supportive initiatives. With Violet, Rabbit Hole co-founder marum and collaborator VIEGAS, he launched the queer trans feminist sex-positive party as an alternative to the other clubbing options in the city. It's now grown to be come a collective of diverse DJs and producers working together to nurture a safe space and use the medium of music to advocate for sexual and gender liberation.

And all the above doesn't even cover his extensive work as a producer. Manoeuvring sonically somewhere between electro, acid and techno, his output has landed him releases on the likes of Dark Entries, Unknown To The Unknown, Don't Be Afraid and, of course, Violet's Naive imprint - the home of his latest release Planetary Spirit.

From the sounds of it, there's plenty in the pipeline for Photonz release-wise, solo, collaboratively and as part of Mercury Haze alongside his pals Ness and Slug Beetle. And on top of production, he'll be spending his time focusing on the new venue and gearing up for some exciting live sets later this year. But before that he takes control of this week's Ransom Note mix, channeling that Tuesday rave energy with a blend of bubbling electro, techno and breaks.

Some words about Me: I am a DJ from Santiago de Chile, I started DJing around 2 years ago during the pandemic. I lived in Strasbourg last year and participated in an open decks party at the local club La Kulture, after that I got a couple of bookings in the city and then I came back to Chile, where I've been mixing at a lot of underground parties, mostly queer parties. I get inspiration from a lot of different stuff, lately I've been feeling inspired by nature (it's summer in Chile atm), my friends, my dog Fredo, romance and food!

About this mix: For this mix I wanted to put together a selection of tracks that I've been playing at afterparties & queer venues in the last couple of months. For me it's a very lush, shiny, silky and subdued mix, while still managing to deliver high-NRG and euphoria. I also love a build-up and playing with energy levels, so at the beginning the mix is very dreamy, then it gets quirkier, and it ends up in a sort of paradise land. I'm not very good at staying in one avenue in terms of genres, so in the mix you can hear a lot of different sounds: From sultry 90's house records, dubby-ish techno & garage, rolling and fast house/tech house, flurry breakbeats and proggy stuff.
