He wanted to experience something beyond reality, this world was not enough for him. The answers he was searching for would not be found here, he'd need to travel to another dimension to find them, but at what cost? How far would somebody go to reach that state? Would he even find what he was looking for or would it be a complete waste of time? There was only one way to find out...

Kendall and Paul's Ritmo Fatale imprint enlist the talents of Agle for their next release. Like much of the label discography, the tracks on For Eternity are inspired by 80s sounds, touching on disco, new wave and Italo influences. Working with analogue synths and drum machines Agle crafts a dark and hypnotic soundtrack that bridges the gap between light and dark. Our pick 'Altered States' is a crawling, cosmic cut that he describes as "a track which tries to break through the surface of its depths, while being pulled back into a loop with no way out."

Prepare yourself for this 4 track release of sublime musical proportions which comes courtesy of Léna C (@lena_y_a_c); who’s Promenade E.P on Sprechenmusic (@SprechenMusic) transcendences the Smokey basements & subterranean dance floor dwellings we often inhabit. It’s all aboard the Zen-Express for this release that incorporates the musical & cultural influences this French born (but now Hebden Bridge based) DJ and music producer has experienced so far on her journey. 

Shokran (from the Arabic ‘Shukran’ meaning ‘thank you’) is a breathy affair with hooky arp lines and a chest warming bass with almost playful synth lines joining in along the way. Percussion keeps up the chug factor but never derailing from its beauty.

Haku takes in the sounds of Japan with a hypnotic bass melody wrapped around soft synth stabs, soothing strings and a dream inducing percussion arrangement which when all wrapped up together is destined to be played/heard in the sun with waves crashing, breeze blowing & a mental reset taking place.

Breeze blows in (see what we did there?) & continues to take us into the unknown and cranks the audible wonderment up to 11. A broken beat carries spaced out synth lines & bass melody with skippy percussion which all sounds like it would be frantic but in Léna’s hands its a perfect delivery of aural beauty.

Azur closes off this trip in perfect harmony and we’d maybe even book this under the ‘balearic chuggers’ category (though the jury is out!). Hooky melodies with a warped vocal sample (which we think is Léna but she swears it isn’t!) and some truly uplifting synth & pads make this the only way to close off this stunning E.P.

There was a time when they saw salvation in the witchcraft of music, studying the recordings of bizarre nameless dissonances, listening to the performances of unknown bands in darkish dirty clubs; but music did not save them then.
Then, after the years they decided to give up everything else, dedicated their life to music only to not be distracted by anything else, and it worked out. So here is the message for you.
Serial Error was founded as a New Beat project when Jacob Korn was asked for a submission to the 'Our Beat Is Still New' compilation series on the Belgian We Play House label in late 2014.
Knowing the retro-experienced skills of his label mates from Uncanny Valley, he teamed up with Credit 00 & Sneaker and they produced Drum Abuse, a track that finally became the cue for their first full 12'' maxi single in 2018 on Rat Life Records, a label curated by Credit 00.
Now they keep on malfunctioning with a 4-tracker featuring the bizarre title Afro Gothic.

Leitstrahl were raised on a strict diet of electronic music. Electro pop. Italo Disco. Synth movie scores. This was the bread and butter of this three man Austrian outfit. With more than fifteen years of band history, the trio of Stoff, Paul Raal and Boogaloo Steve are as proud as punch to announce their debut album: Chromium Dioxide. For their thirteen tracks the triumvirate have pooled their enthusiasm and experience, calling on a string of friends to give their selection a unique energy and emotion. Jon Jon, aka John Foster, of Bronski Beat fame, offers his vocals for the rollercoaster ride of “Europa Supersaw.” Nicole Jaey’s mellifluous voice soars in the blazing “Chevrolée,” Christina Mirabilis lends her sweet lyrics for the fiery “Girotti” with Jimmy Baker voicing the pop heartbreak of “White Tail.” Synthlines sparkle across the collection, magical melodies pirouetting in a haze of deep Summer sun.
