Berlin club and partystarters Sameheads return to black wax on April 10th with "ZEUG!", a 4-track EP from various celebrated artists, who join forces in new and unheard ways for a stack of outernational and spaced-out dancefloor jams for creative dance floors worldwide and beyond. 

First up is Mameen 3 (a side-project from Brussels selector DJ Sofa) & Romanian pioneer Rodion G.A with ‘Planet Cluj’, a suitably off-world excursion through a fun-packed disco hall in some far-off colony where layered synths are stacked, elements seeping through one another to form a mesh of groove.
Anatolian Weapons’ cosmic fireside ritual, ‘Chant 3’, heats up the A2 with vibrant and punchy percussion loops woven together with a worldwide chorus of chanters. Building continuously, the tough workout is dosed up with a bassline saturated in attitude for a high-energy finish. Picking up on the B side are KRENG (a morphic form composed of Don’t DJ and Dane Close),
who slow the pace down with a latticed beatwork combining robust dance formulas and blasting syncopation. Letting the rhythm do the legwork for the first half of the track, the pair then pour out a sludged mess of grime-infused bass over the percussive chaos. Silvia Kastel and Wilted Woman close proceedings as SHAKEY with a dubwise workout that straddles b-side house obscurity and stoned live dub improvisation: steel drums patter at the windows of Paradise Garage as Larry Levan fights off the vampires alongside Scientist.
Berlin based CROSSLUCID, AKA Sylwana Zybura and Tomas C. Toth, have delivered another stunning example of their perception-bending otherworldly viewpoint with the artwork for the release. A purely analog production, fusing clever lighting tricks, hand-made props, and a healthy dose of shaving foam and dry ice....... This “Cult of the Cosmic Swamp” chimes with the weird tribal rhythms contained on the record.

“Vax!” - Reminiscent of all the slippery vinyl that glitched under so many sweaty wet fingers in a steamy basement before time - a picture that seems highly illegal in our current antiseptic climate of hopefully germ free adolescents. Vax-inate! Give them the needle! It’s time.

Deti Vechnosti - Pered Rassvetom opens the gates to plug into the socket of our collective deranged consciousness, generating frisky and flamboyant specks to brightening darkness that confines our lives. Offering glimpses of the great unknown we also carry within. The Track introduces Chikiss & Mustelide’s new group “Deti Vechnosti”.

Alexander Arpeggio & OhLandy’s “Der Anruf”, wich originally appeared as a French language version on a previous Sameheads / Diapason tape release tells those tales of hot and hotter heat. Karmic payback for the sweaty and long nights enveloped in the halo of resonating frequencies of silly and high-spirited mischief.

Rouge Mécanique - Down the Line - follows suite in the odyssey that is a demented night out, sitting in front of a club, realising that the leatherjacket you picked up a few streets ago from the ground doesn’t smell like adventure but like spew.

The B-Side opens with Automatenfall - a hardware electronic 3 piece, previously appearing live at Sameheads during a “My Friend calls it K-Jazz” event. A yearning that eventually gets us on a spiritual path and headed toward enlightenment through the meandering melange of chimes, that little sounds that usually overcome us in the weirdest of times.

Das Kinn - the new project from Toben Piel, who’s part of Frankfurt’s MMODEM family, and one half of Les Trucs evokes memories of better days, black leatherpants - think Falco meets DAF - Überpop for the Untergrund.

Stopping for a final coup d'œil is Alessandro Adriani’s - Preserved Data Space. A persuasive case of brutally but lovingly worked machines serenading sawtooth waves of an infinite Weiter, a dissolving timeframe - the longest after hour I’ve been to, it lasts more than a year now already and counting.

Das Kinn's eponymously titled track is filled to the brim with eerie synths, which, punctuated by Piel’s shrieks, sound like they could be emanating from the room next door. Out 1 June via @sameheads.

Leftfield-leaning acid, techno, and indie dance mixed as the futuristic and reborn sound of a progressive vibe. Label A&R Jaroška invites Athens' very best, Anatolian Weapons, to make two remixes and complete the whole collection of new and dancefloor-ready flavors.

Montessori is Alfredo Cardenas' project inspired by alternative and post-rock energy, new wave & post-modern techno vibe, and production techniques. Add gnarly Mexican Suburb life where artists seek to find meaning in the arts to this unique mixture and share this vision with the rest of the world.

The release will be up for pre-order from next week, and the digital stuff too….

Jelly Bean Farm is excited to share ‘Autonomy’ by RNBWS, Maxim Nikolaev. RNBWS is the co-founder of ‘Pkge’ a genre-bending label out of Russia. He can also be found regularly playing live techno sets at the infamous club ‘Propaganda’ in Moscow. UK bass lovers know of his previous releases on Sounds of Sumo and Circular Jaw, though this release marks a distinct stylistic divergence for RNBWS.

‘Autonomy’ delivers five hybrid club-friendly tracks that effortlessly suit a variety of moods and atmospheres. The driving and rich nature of this EP is the result of Maxim’s deepening frustration with political stagnation in Russia that consequently became the inspiration. He hyperfocused on production and reached deeper into his personal musical influences. The result is RNBWS synthesis of early rave & techno, infused with traces of electro-industrial, metal, and horror film scores. This all comes together harmoniously in the ‘Autonomy’ EP. It is
strikingly playful and vibrant, at times sensual and cool with an undercurrent of agitation.

PRÈMIÉRE: Rnbws - Stability Element [Jelly Bean Farm]

There's no story to tell here... Usually we write a poem, a piece of prose or a passage per premiere. However, in this case the story has already been told. A humble gentleman who produced music across decades and lit a spark in the underbelly of British dance and electronic music culture. This EP wasn't supposed to be so poignant. Andrew Weatherall was a friend to many and this much was clear by the widespread outpouring of love which was shown in the aftermath of his passing. 

This record was recorded in a studio down an alleyway in South London as the label describe the coming together behind the EP. 

"When I asked Andrew about these tracks, he told me 'the great thing about not being signed to a major a label is that it’s liberating. No deadlines, no restraints, no pressures. The result - the creative process is completely free. There’s a blank canvas in the studio, you can pretty much go anywhere you want.'

Andrew Weatherall is constantly creating and filing it under various categories so that he can meet the needs of the copious amounts of people he’s made rash promises to deliver music to. His Moton file has gathered some weight and from this stash we arrive at his release for Pamela Records . The tracks were written by Andrew Weatherall with studio pal Nina Walsh sharing the writing credits in part. Nina has also contributed samples from her extensive arsenal of sample weapons."

The fire burned bright, the roaring flames unfurling in shades of orange and red. Sparks showered down through the darkness met by murmurs and cheers from the crowd spread around its fringes. As if under a spell they swayed and moved their bodies in unison, the indefinable words leaving their lips morphing into ritualistic chant...

For their third release, Berlin nightclub Sameheads enlist the help of friends and celebrated artists to contribute to a four track V/A; the result is a batch of spaced-out dance floor cuts that touch on a variety of influences and step outside genre and convention. There's a fun-packed synth jam from Mameen 3 (a side-project of Brussels' DJ Sofa) and Romanian producer Rodion G.A, a dubwise closer from SHAKEY - the meeting of minds of Silvia Kastel and Wilted Woman, KRENG bring sludgy syncopated beats on the B-Side and our pick, from Greek producer Anatolian Weapons, who brings back the ritualistic chant over punchy bass and drums, before building to a climactic finish. The artwork was conceived by Crosslucid AKA Sylwana Zybura and Tomas C. Toth, who deliver their signature perception-bending viewpoint.

'Greatestings' is incidental music from a film you only half remember. A warped dream you long to have again and will chase for evermore.
