Throne of Blood continues the anniversary onslaught with the third of four EPs of new and exclusive jams from friends new and old. Following on from the first two Anniversary EPs which featured contributions from Joakim, Chloé, Justin Cudmore, Curses, Hardway Bros and more we deliver more dancefloor material from Pleasure Planet, Man Power, Danse Alice and Teleseen.

EP 3 kicks off with Sisters, all big rave energy owing a big debt to Pleasure Planet’s Kim Ann Foxman, Andrew Potter, and Brian Hersey’s memories of countless pilled-out 90’s era nights. In contrast, Danse Alice, a new project from dear friend and collaborator Remain (Meant Records) come with a slow motion groover, an emotional score for the comedown. Look for more music from this Marseilles-based duo coming soon on Lumiere Noire and Ombra Intl.

Rounding things out is an absolutely monstrous breakbeat banger from Newcastle’s Man Power, an homage to everything awesome about Chemical Brothers and the beautifully groovy “Sacambu” from our friend and long-time champion of the label, Teleseen.

It's an EP of contrasts, another way to resist pigeonholing what Throne of Blood has stood for over the past sixteen years and a refusal to chase any single sound, scene or trend as we look to the future…

Cyphon Recordings welcome DJ, producer, musician, and D.KO co-owner Flabaire for the fourth outing on the label. At just 29, the Parisian artist - real name Ralph Maruani - already has a fair share of victories under his belt. On his acclaimed D.KO imprint, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, he’s released three albums and several EPs, as well as charting releases for Organic-Music, Deeppa Records and South Street. On top of his solo pursuits, you can find him playing bass with five-piece house band Secret Value Orchestra, and more recently he’s been exploring his formative love of psych-rock with his Aboukir project and readying a second album.

For his next solo EP, he brings his beautifully affecting and nostalgic blend of electro, IDM, and deep house to Cyphon. If there’s one thing Flabaire knows a thing or two about, it’s creating music that’s full of emotion and atmosphere, and that’s exactly what he does on ‘Entre-Deux’. Wasting no time pulling at heartstrings, on opener ‘In Between’ he layers an electro drum beat over lush pads that beckon an iridescent synth line to rise up out of the haze. At the half-way mark a cowbell swings into action and the pads swell and glisten, making way for a squelchy 303 to bubble underneath the surface. ‘No Minding’ moves into softer realms, giving us a moment for contemplation. A serene blend of deep house and electronica, it’s paced by a warm bass bounce and shuffling percussion sprinkled with chopped vocal samples and bright keys.

Flabaire’s bass mastery continues on ‘Click Plok’, as does his deftness at producing delicate, gliding pads, which this time are punctuated by tight bleeps, gentle open hats and a meandering synth solo. The atmosphere is still just as palpable on closing track ‘FBG’. A balmy syncopated groove leads the charge, joined harmoniously by twinkling synth melodies that dance over dusty breakbeats and hushed vocal stutters.

Since its inception, the rising & shining label Kyma Komplex has been always keen to open its doors to promising talents amid the Indie Dance, Dark Disco, and Techno spectra. For its forthcoming adventure, for instance, the Mexican imprint presents the result of the first collaboration between skilled Spanish producers AlesaDJ & Ivan Smoka. Their German-baptized EP, "Tanzen", delivers two competent originals and two smart interpretations made with love by Jorge Galindo and Mecha Corta, whose previous appearances on Kyma vouched the lads for the remix duty.

The track we chose to premiere impresses from its very beginning. “Tanzen 01” is a perfect theme to start a set by letting the last tune of the previous artist run its course instead of mixing it. The pulsating arpeggio paves the way to a mesmerising Techno-infused lead followed by deep cosmic synth pads that trigger the trippy mode while frenzied kaleidoscopical distortions bring an acid gait to the party.

In 2019 we received a-lot of tracks from Mytron, and we were immediately hooked. Unfortunately not all the tracks could fit the vinyl. Hard choices had to be made and thereby we are super happy to share this EP with you.
Even more exciting is that we asked San Soda to make a remix under his New Beat moniker, Nick Berlin.

This resulted in a diverse EP with original tracks by Mytron (ft. Dreems) which could be played at every moment in a set (hopefully in clubs and festivals again soon).
To top it off, the remix by Nick Berlin (aka San Soda) will certainly be liked among New Beat lovers.
