PREMIERE – Azole – Pulpa (Endrik Schroeder ‘Driving to Heaven’ Remix) (Where were we?)

She couldn't recall a sunset so breathtaking; shades of purple, red, gold and orange seared through the sky, burning hot like the embers of a fire. It framed the desert, making the landscape feel a little less expansive and sprawling than it really was. This place was truly magical, it were as though the scenery was for her eyes only, a secret that nobody else was allowed to know.

Lithuania's Where Were We? are following up their last release from Azole with a stellar remix release. The duo's EP, Mr. Sutherland - a titular tip of the hat to the Australian keys maestro - was packed full of bouncy Italo jams and funky grooves, which get driven into more interstellar realms on this new package. All adept at manoeuvring in cosmic worlds, alongside alternate takes from Endrik Schroeder and Ivan Fabra, the label bring on board regular remixers Black Feeling and Romain Fx, who takes us on a joy ride through the desert with his "Valley of The Moon" remix.

Retaining the label's staple remixers Romain Fx and Black Feeling, WWW is introducing 2 well-seasoned producers to the roster.
Both Endrik Schroeder and Ivan Fabra are not new names in the game and both have a string of very well-received releases under the belt of proper labels. 

Both Endrik and Ivan are delivering their own signature sound and we're sure that their skillful work on the original tracks will transport you to outer space.

After a long process, we managed to get in touch with an
Australian four-piece that went by the name of Boxcar from 86-92, producing a lot of music ahead of its time.

They’ve recently started re-issuing their songs with modern producers on remix duty and after asking Romain FX to work on a remix, it was only natural that Fauve Records would work on a limited-edition vinyl-only release with a stellar cast.

For this edition, we have asked some of the coolest cats in the game to hand us a remix with their specific touch and an array of bangers came about. Donald’s House with a rave house-inspired remix, Fabrizio Mammarella with a more EBM/Italo touch, Jonny Rock with a dubby finger- licking-good take, and of course Romain FX with an intergalactic voyage.

Something very special here with Slow Motion’s 48th release. 

Recorded while experimenting with gear at CIMM studios (Venice Biennale’s centre for computer music which Bottin co-designed in 2019), EYE-BM is a joint release between two of our heaviest hitters: hairy Fabrizio Mammarella and baldie Bottin. 

EYE-BM is three tracks of sinister music, sweaty electro with tinges of cyberpunky EBM and New Beat. The icing on the cake is the euphoric remix from Italian synth wave pioneer Alexander Robotnick. 
The acidic and jacking flavour might as well be the sound of your mind and body losing it on the dancefloor or missing your stop on the ass-bahn. Turn the dial up to 11. Or 12.

"Back for round two, mysterious imprint, MILF Recordings arrives with another threesome of perfectly sensual dubs from your favorite producer, “Unknown Artist.”  
Kicking off the EP, “Guilty Desire”, sets the dark tones early, with your traditional disco-tech syncopated bass line, over classic drums, both elements that now begin to feel like a familiar theme for MILF.  The track begins modestly, and then evolves into a ghostbusters-esque middle section, before closing out with a swirling, luxurious, analog filter sweep, another element that starts to feel like a key part of the label’s overall sonic aesthetic.  “Infinitits,” the EP’s second track, once more, takes the slower approach, bringing the tempo down below 110 bpm, and relying on the oscillating bass to slowly reel you in, while flanging, stereo, elements are added in a leisurely, hypnotizing, manner, over the track’s 7 minute downtempo journey.  With only a few select elements, the piece succeeds in giving off a grooving, “minimal disco” feel; A fitting ode to the top heavy.  The final track, “Don d’Orgasmes”, perhaps the heaviest of the three, simply due to the absolutely massive sub bass tones, and the only track on this particular EP to use what appear to be actual sex samples (remember MILF001?), provides another effective channel for visceral dance moves at your favorite, local fetish themed rave, or party.  While the three works clearly have a retro influence, the third, in particular, gives off an especially specific “80’s era electro” feel, again, due to the spot on synth programming.  All together, MILF002 delivers another set of tastefully racy, though still surprisingly easy to enjoy, dance floor grooves, as always, intended for mature audiences, only."

Duca comes again, what is going on? With Black Bones and Talking Drums incoming, the label returns to its various artists format with another 4 guest editors cutting and sample, looping and extending for fun. 2023 seems the year of the Bianco.
Italo king return, warm and glowing Franz Scala (Slow Motion / Bahnsteig 23) offering the slow build new wave funk of For Me to start any party.
The mysterious CW is next. Who? One of the most respected collectors and DJs on the London scene, one third of the Beauty & The Beat party and occasionally known to offer exceptional afro & souk edits for the floor, here delivering a twist and shake change up for Duca.
Our choice here is backwards of Red Axes, Der Sexa’s - Gabi Plane follows on the flip, another unknown maybe or maybe not. Why not take a look in the mirror for the denouement and let the king of a groove slice any dancefloor. 
To finish, Manchester’s finest editors Talking Drums return with a left field bomba in DMNB. We’re not sure what it means but it’s twisted and perfecto.

Cormac brings the heat into the new year with a brand new EP on his Polari imprint, this time coming from Greek DJ/production duo,  Boys‘ Shorts.

Boys’ Shorts is a Greek DJ/production duo based in London. The duo was founded by Vangelis (ex-LAGASTA) and Tareq. 

The Crop Tops EP‘s title track is a lyrical ode to queer dancefloor longing and is already proving to be a much requested hit.‘Days Without You‘ and ‘Nostalgia‘ compliment each other with a laidback emotional warmth, whilst ‘In The City‘ draws on their rave culture roots. The EP displays an expansive and clever musical world.

Boys‘ Shorts are two talented greek queers, whose music I've been playing for the last few years. I love their use of lyrics , their nods to rave and 90s music culture. It's truly a great thing to showcase them at their pop sensibility finest with the Crop Tops EP. All of these tracks have been heavily ID requested in my sets the last year.

Forthcoming EP Crop Tops is due to be released digitally, 17th of February.
