Tofistock has become one of our go to labels since their first 'Movie Makers' VA back in 2018; we've watched the imprint come into its own, building a close-knit family of artists whilst refining their sound, which swirls around hypnotic trance, low slung trip hop and organic rhythms. For their next instalment, label heads Olsvangèr and MYKI keep it in the family. Alongside two solo cuts, another under Ols' DJ Headshot alias in partnership with Matris, they round off the release together under their new project Babylon X with trance-tinged title track 'Hyper Love'.

Duality Trax is a contemporary, forward-thinking record label from the creative mind of Irishselector Holly Lester. Sprinkled with glitchy 8-bit samples, laser tag sound effects and driving 303licks, ‘Pearlescent’ is reminiscent of the type of track you’d hear in the 90’s on a virtual realitysimulator. With one foot in the past and one firmly in the future, the result is a contemporary clubbanger primed for the re-emergence of dancefloors everywhere.'Visions Vol. 1' comes out on August 6th exclusively via Bandcamp, with 100% of the profitsdonated to Doctors Without Borders.

Cardiff's @Hawsmusic label take a step down under and further into late night dancefloors for their 13th release, a six-track from Perth's @GuyContact entitled 'Euphoria Simulator'.

ØEN Records is back with a special two track EP from up and coming Copenhagen based producer Fruit (@fruitdj). Originally from Iceland, but based in Denmark, Fruit has been making waves in the Copenhagen club scene with his eloquent DJ and live-sets. Following up his acclaimed 2019 Drømmeland EP he is finally back with two epic, fast-paced and euphoric tracks to light up the summer dance floors.

Drawing inspiration from myths and legends and particularly the Epic of Gilgamesh – a 4000 year old poem from ancient Mesopotamia – “Gilgamesh” is a hypnotic and trancey trip destined for the peak hours of the post-corona parties.

Created during the peak of the pandemic on an old half broken borrowed MacBook, the two distinct but kindred tracks are testament to Fruits unique production style, effortlessly navigating between euphoric fast-paced house, ambient soundscapes, hypnotic percussion and haunting atmospheres. Skillfully crafted and executed “Gilgamesh” is primed for both floor and mind.

This was an album that was made when I moved to Seattle in 2020. I was intrigued by the idea of a future where robots have replaced humans and are mimicking their ancestors by going to electronic 'cafes'. What would they be listening to?

It's now 2024, almost a quarter of a century later. The idea is one that I think is closer then we think.
