Landing with an almighty bass bin rumbling on Sprechen is another northern musical disciple from around our way. Kiaki has been a regular visitor to many a Sprechen and Sticky Heat social and defo knows his onions when it comes to rocking the discotheques. With previous releases on Me Me Me and the likes of Erol Alkan giving hi props its with a mega vibe that we welcome him to the label!

Northern Solar is a straight up, lost in the sweat & smoke kind of club track. Hypnotic and hooky with its relentless pulsating low end thud & rumbles accompanied by synth stabs and squelches a like. One for the mutant acid militia…

The 2nd helping comes in the form of ‘And Then Some’. Slower paced and stripped back allowing for a more infectious groove to take over. But still packing bags of electronic drama. Perfect ‘transition track’ for when you need to flip things up a notch (or 2). Kind of peaky but not too much, what we like to call at Sprechen as a ‘subtle banger’.

Tartiflux is a versatile mini-LP that weaves together many of Margee’s musical influences—downtempo grooves, 90s disco beats, organic house, and acid breaks—into a unique, eclectic sound. Organic textures guide the overall tone, ensuring that the groove remains at the heart of every track.

On the A side, the title track "Tartiflux" takes listeners on a progressive, groovy, and downtempo journey with deep bass, sizzling pads, and distorted guitar sections. It features a remix by NYC legend Justin Strauss, who adds a punchy, rhythmic flair alongside additional productions by W. Andrew Raposo of Midnight Magic.

The B side presents a dynamic lineup, starting with "Help Myself," a vocal disco-house anthem with an energetic rhythm, crisp drums, and punchy vocal chops. "Maanside" follows, offering a dreamy and melancholic experience with minimalistic grooves. The EP concludes with "Poomee," the darkest track featuring breakbeats, deep synths, and an engaging sonic journey through acid patterns and robust basslines.

Human Endeavour Records launch ‘Dancefloor Designs’, a brand new remix series that reworks previous catalogue material for the club. The inaugural package of remixes revisits music from Anastasia Zems and May Lavie, the second and fourth releases on the Ransom Note sub-label.

First up, Calypso Records boss and mushroom house master Thomass Jackson adds his psychedelic touch to Zems’ ‘Trust Me’. One of our favourite producers in recent years, the Mexico-based Argentinian has his own unique off-kilter take on house music that manifests on this remix through trippy soundscapes, squelchy acid licks and a chugging bass groove.

Melodize are back with their 18th release, this time with label boss Beartrax in the driver’s seat.

There once was a creature called Beartrax, Who dwelt in the land of Melodize,
With music opaque and remixes so fine,
That Pagliara himself would often opine:
“How splendid, how jumbly, how strangely divine!”

This Beartrax would dance on his tail in the night,
While playing a tune that was wondrously bright,
Opaque were his melodies, twisted and queer,
That made all the Melodize creatures draw near.

“Oh! Beartrax, dear Beartrax,” they’d cheerfully say,
“Your Pagliara Remixes make our hearts sway!
So splendiferous, rumbly, melodiously strange,
From basslines to treble, the whole tonal range!”

But Beartrax just smiled with his whiskers akimbo,
And twirled seven times in a musical limbo,
For musical nonsense was all that he knew,
In Melodize land where the sky was dark blue.

We’re premiering Massimiliano Pagliara’s synth-heavy, bassy rework of Opaque… Belter.

Figi and Luca dell’Orso team up to sing praise of a tool that has crossed genres and styles and give the little metal larynx deserved limelight on their own three track theatre. Rumbling bass is shot through with crisp snaps in the title piece, warbling vocals rising as keys dance in this wonderful collaboration. Production across the 12” is beautifully clean and sharp, allowing the rich analogue sound and robotic lyrics to be fully appreciated. Of course, as happens with the vocoder, those lyrics are just that shade of bittersweet. That brooding quality is used to full effect by Luca dell’Orso in “Fire with Fire”. A bold and daring melody is countered by a tale flecked with sorrow, the brightness and immersion of synths contrasted by the filtered and fractured human voice. Figi flies solo for the finale. “Moonlight (Vocoder Version)” dips words in a thick mechanical syrup, a story of burning love recanted to moonbeam rinses and bending disco bars. A true celebration of man and machine.
